Fabric Fabric Everywhere!

The postman was very kind today. I received:

1. The silk taffeta from Decorative Silk. Lovely! And it got here so quickly. I am very impressed with this company.

2. The linen I just ordered last week from Fabrics-store.com. They have always been fantastic, so I am not surprised. This is going to used as a petticoat for the ballgown and for lining the ( Read more... )

I am using the Truly Victorian pattern. It has 12 continuous vertical pieces (6 each side) with no gores over the bust. The sizes are in very small increments and they give instructions for sizing. The first attempt was too small, so I made it one size larger on the bottom and kept the top the same... and the top was huge. Clearly I must have made a cutting mistake on either the first or the second version. The fabric was different for each, so that might have something to do with it too ( ... )
