So I posted my 23K word Finn/Rey road trip epic last night and didn't bother to post it here because I wanted to go to bed and now AO3 is down. So no one can read my story! Arrgh! I had anxiety dreams about it - that I'd left half the story out, or mistagged it, or it was riddled with typos, and therefore got no response whatsoever, but I didn't ( Read more... )

comics: star wars: aphra, technology is not my friend, memes: what i'm reading wednesday, tv: the flash, books, books: star wars, tv: brooklyn nine-nine, comics: star wars, anakin skywalker: human disaster

Boy am I with you on the apartment. If my boyfriend presented me with an apartment I'd never seen before and announced that we were both on the lease, I'd inform him that he can't sign for me and he'd better be able to afford it all by himself, because I would not be moving in AND I'd take back the wallet! I told my husband that he was not to present me with an engagement ring, I wanted to pick one out. My daughter did the same thing with her husband.

Candace Patton deserves so much better. I liked her as earth 2 Iris and as Flashpoint Iris, so the actress is fine. Supportive girlfriend Iris is dull as dirt. I don't know how they can rescue her character, but they need to.

Yeah, I don't know why the writing for Iris is so terrible. Just because she's the comics designated love interest doesn't mean they can't give her fun stuff to do! Flashpoint Iris and Earth 2 Iris were great! And yet they can't seem to do that with regular Iris.

The apartment was just...ridiculous. I mean, I get that the writers have probably seen too many Hallmark Christmas movies and jewelry commercials because that's exactly what that scene felt like (though I will stand by the fact that "I got you a wallet" was a hilarious response). It was just not something I think a truly good boyfriend would do, though.

I definitely recommend A Gentleman in Moscow!

I liked the first RoL comic a lot - it has a lot of Peter and Guleed in it, and also more Nightingale than has been present in the last couple of books.

Is it even legal for him to put her name on the lease without her consent? Barry, this is neither cool nor romantic! If my boyfriend surprised me with this, I'd want to kick his ass.

I'm curious about where the show goes with Julian after this, especially since it seems Savitar is still a problem.

It probably isn't? But why let a little thing like consent or legality stand in his way? Sigh.

I've seen it suggested Julian will take on Harry's role of being a dick on the team, but I wouldn't be surprised if he's just another 'friend' in the police department who ends up covering for Barry on metahuman stuff. Until he dies heroically at some point in the spring.

If by "being a dick" they mean "tells Barry the many common sense reasons why he shouldn't do something"....

but I wouldn't be surprised if he's just another 'friend' in the police department who ends up covering for Barry on metahuman stuff. Until he dies heroically at some point in the spring.

Brutal. Don't be a user, Barry!
