The Nyssa-tasticness of this and the last episode made me very happy. I share... uh, some concerns about a bunch of trained assassins let loose in the world without any structure but, eh. *handwave* And I giggled quite a bit at how they made the Nanda Parbat marriage into a plot point.

Malcolm still being alive is frankly ridiculous but that's not any different from the last 2 1/2 seasons, I guess. I've given up on how much acrobatics they are willing to do to keep him on the show.

I guess the last scene raises the likelihood of William or his mother being in the grave higher? But we (well, at least I) as audience have zero emotional investment in those two, and I don't buy Felicity's reaction in the car if it's either of those two (I mean, she would be sad for Oliver, but Felicity was clearly devastated). And I call shenanigans on William being the person Oliver loves the most in the world. It is CLEARLY Thea. C'mon.

but if they're not going to give me Paris/Rory, can't she have met someone new?UGH, Rory's terrible boyfriends, why ( ... )

I'd like to think she gathers them back in and rechristens them the League of Flower-Arrangers (who also kill people on the side) or something.

True, but who else is there? Her mom? but then wouldn't Barry go to the car to talk to Felicity?

(note: I refuse to consider it's Diggle or Lyla.)

Her take-down of Jess is my favourite.

I have a soft spot for Jess - not only was his relationship with Luke great, but he has matured by his final appearance! Logan is just Christopher 2.0, and the less said about Dean the better.

PREACH. I'm still worried. *frets* Mostly, I feel like the writers are just dicking us around with this drawn-out "who will die DUN DUN" bullshit. Ugh, just kill people off without warning like normal, for fuck's sake.

I didn't have much time for Jess, although I tolerated him much, much better than Logan (UGH, LOGAN). Season 1 Dean was okay, before he turned into a creepy trashmonster. C'mon, Rory. Paris is right there!

Yeah, it's a really shitty (not to mention lazy) way to write a season of tv, imo.

C'mon, Rory. Paris is right there!

SERIOUSLY!

Yay! Someone else who doesn't just hate the Arrow episode outright.

Your thoughts are pretty much my thoughts, although I'm with vonniek that I feel like they're putting William up as an obvious option at this point in order to put our attention there instead of on where it should be.

I am with both of you on the fact that Malcolm needs to be dead soon and should have been dead forever ago.

I love Nyssa, and I call shenanigans on the idea that she would not have been able to kill Malcolm but I've made my peace with how this show deals with her and choose to take delight in the delightful things about her instead of getting pissed at the writers for not respecting her the way I want them to. *shrug*

Huh, people hated this episode? I really enjoyed it. I'm glad I don't venture too far from my flist/dash about these things.

I think she probably could have, but 1. it's Oliver's show, and 2. this way Oliver gets to keep Merlyn alive (???WHY??) so I rolled with it.

These are my exact Gilmore feelings and I appreciate not feeling alone in this. A friend said something positive on Twitter about Logan coming back and I was like DUDE IT BETTER JUST BE A CAMEO FROM PRISON. So that's where I am with that.

Hee! A cameo from prison would be HILARIOUS.

A single Rory focused on her career would make me happy as well, but I can't help hope for some Rory/Paris.

Malcolm really does live in an alternate reality from everyone else, unless everything he says to everyone is a lie. He sees Ollie as family? Ha! (Though if he means family in the same way he mind-controlled his daughter Thea into killing a good friend of hers and is willing to let her die in the service of his ambition and super secret reasons, in which case yeah sure.) He really thought Ollie would be fine with his sister needlessly dying, an assassin gang war in the city he protects, and Malcolm Merlin being the leader of the League of Assassins because of Reasons I Won't Bother to Tell You? Malcolm, you could've told him if the reasons are so compelling, but they must be either crap or something he knew Ollie wouldn't approve of ( ... )

Yeah, the Malcolm stuff is just ludicrous and hopefully they will finally end him in the season finale. Maybe Darhk will do it so Thea doesn't get mad at Oliver (would she, though, after everything he's done? I don't know).

I figure Ollie stepped in on the duel because he knew Nyssa would just straight up kill Malcolm, something he still doesn't want anyone to do for some reason.

*nodnod*

That makes sense.

When Malcolm told Dahrk that there's someone Ollie loves even more than Felicity, I was sure he would say "Thea," especially considering that the whole episode was about Ollie trying to save her life.

me, too! Like, I get that he'd be protective of his son, but he doesn't even know the kid!
