well take it, it's my gift

Please tell me not to go down the rabbit hole of reading about the FIFA investigation (I only have three tabs open! I can stop before I get started!). There are so many things about it that are just mind-boggling. I mean, American sports are not bastions of purity - the NFL is pretty despicable, and I say that as a huge (American) football fan - ( Read more... )

But the CDC is going to be kicking themselves for letting him go when he finally cures zombieism and wins a Nobel Prize.

Right?? Everything you said, pretty much, is exactly how I felt in this episode. It was really well done, as usual with this show. And yeah, I was all "So Ravi cures zombie-ism in season one? Seems unlikely." But it's lovely showing us just how smart he really is.

Yes! though other people I've seen are afraid it puts him in Blaine's crosshairs, but I can't imagine them killing Ravi off. I would probably stop watching if they did.

That was a fantastic episode! I also thought the numbers were the lock code but I had no idea what was going on. I love the mythos-building in this series, and I have no idea where they're going with Ravi's potential cure...but I think him being bitten by the rat and not turning into a zombie is a hint that rat-zombies and people-zombies are rather different.

Though maybe some synthesis between them will create the cure? I don't know how these things work...

But yeah, it was really well done.

Go down the rabbit hole!!! It's a never-ending stream of corruptness! And it's a story that should be known given the human rights violations going on in Qatar wrt the world cup. I don't think there's a single soccer fan at the moment who didn't know there FIFA was corrupt (you just couldn't deny it after Qatar was awarded the 2022 world cup) and all of this is just a relief to have someone do something about it.

OTOH, it's still depressing that they can't even chop off the head (and revoted for him today for another 4 year term!!) and that even the people who seem like they are calling for change, are really just calling for a convenient time frame so they can grab power. (Platini, I am looking at you with your not so altruistic call to postpone the election.)

Heh. Part of me is stunned at how deep and wide it is, and horrified at the stuff in Qatar (not to mention what happened in Brazil), and also at how they just re-elected the same guy! As if nothing had happened! Amazing.

the reveal about major and, er, "major" was such a gutpunch. poor liv. :( i really liked the reveal about johnny frost, but it never occurred to me that liv might have more than the one hallucination, so major being one was quite a surprise. and yeah, she really needs to tell him sooner rather than later that she's one of the walking dead. better he hear it from her than see it on scott e's video.

ravi, man. still the best. and so lovely trying to comfort liv and keep her from doing something stupid (because they're friends! and he loves her! and he doesn't want anything to happen to her!), and so cute with his interest in peyton. and he figured out a zombie cure! or at least a cure for rat zombieism.

*nod nod*

It was really well done, because once they showed us Johnny Frost was a hallucination, we probably should have suspected something but I certainly didn't.

Ravi is the best!

I was walloped by the end of that episode. Liv needs to get out in front of this immediately... but she probably won't. It wouldn't surprise me if Babineaux is blase about the reveal by this point.

I was enjoying Johnny Frost, to the point that I wouldn't have minded him showing up again now and then.

It occurred to me that Major's last job with juvenile delinquents has given him know-how and a number of useful skills.

Babineaux being blase about it would work for me, really. But yeah, Liv needs to do something before Major finds that video, but I agree - I don't think she will, and it'll just spiral out of control some more, even though she could have stopped it at any time by just telling him.

And yes, I was enjoying having Johnny Frost around.

It occurred to me that Major's last job with juvenile delinquents has given him know-how and a number of useful skills.

I think he'll be a determined and pugnacious zombie hunter, though he'll still get his ass kicked a lot.

The thing with Babineaux is that in a lot of shows the cop would have a period of "There are no such things as psychics!", with it being an ongoing plot of him disbelieving and telling said psychic that s/he can't be one. In this show Babineaux rolls with it, and when her visions turn out to be correct and help him solve cases then he's just fine with whatever she is and however she does what she does. So I'm hoping he continues to be blase.
