I'm still trying to figure out how to talk about how what's happened/happening without turning into an uplifting but fake-sounding story, you know?

I root for a baseball team that went from worst to first, winning a World Series six months after our community was gutted by an act of terror. So yeah, I know. It's a very tricky balancing act.

It is! I mean, I'm truly sorry and sympathetic that St. Louis lost his mother, having recently lost my own, but I'm also glad that the team has rallied around him and given him - and the city - something great to focus on.

The Rangers! I did not expect that picking them up as my Eastern Conference girlfriend team a couple years back was going to be so satisfying. My embarrassing feelings about Ryan McDonagh become only more embarrassing game by game, and I think Mats Zuccarello is magic.
