"Dangerous longings in lonely bosoms."

Here's a hilarious review of Picnic from the New York Times.

an excerpt:
The Roundabout Theater Company’s revival of William Inge's "Picnic" opened on Sunday night, starring an exceptionally well-developed torso. Of course the torso belongs to a person, the actor Sebastian Stan. But it has been given the kind of lavish individual attention that ( Read more... )

Captain America: The Winter Soldier - TORSOS NAMED TROUBLE!!! That review! I'm dying here!

(I KNOW you're already plotting/writing a fic with that title!)

Oh man, I can't wait til the 25th!

(Oh, hey! on the 26th (Sat.) Beth and I are going to go see Hansel & Gretel Witch Hunters to ogle Jeremy Renner, (in the mid-late afternoon) and then we're going to go to dinner after if you want to join us for either!)

I am thinking about it. *g*

Mostly though, I'm thinking about SebStan's torso on screen with CEvans' torso. SHIRTLESS MONTAGE FOR EVERYONE PLEASE.

I would love to see Hansel & Gretel with you - email me with details when you get a chance.

EIN IS ADORABLE!

Cowboy Bebop does have a really excellent dub, I actually prefer it

That's what people said, so that is why I went with it. And I like it, plus it doesn't tax my brain like subtitles would.

I appreciate that Cowboy Bebop is a really interesting piece of anime history and art, without being like YES THIS IS THE ONE I LOVE.

*nod nod*

I know what you mean. I'm enjoying it so far - I think my love for Firefly helps with that, though.

I liked Samurai Champloo a lot more, which is by the same guy, but it's more straight-forward in its storytelling and also a lot more action packed.

You're the third or fourth person who's mentioned Samurai Champloo, so maybe I will give it a go.

I'm still not sure why I keep bouncing off FMA: Brotherhood, but I might have to give that a fourth shot, too.

i think Brotherhood really doesn't seem like it has much heart at the beginning, because it quite clearly thinks that you must have watched the first anime up until at least the point where the comic splits off from the original show and everything goes to crazytown. Brotherhood WHIZZES through the events that take up more than half of the first series, and does them in like 10 or so episodes so that it can get to the new/real stuff at the end ( ... )

I think my main problem is that I disliked Ed in the first two episodes I watched. Which makes me disinclined to continue.

Maybe I'd like him better in the manga? I don't know.

isn't the music in cowboy bebop fantastic? you do get some of faye's backstory, and from what i remember (because it's been a while and now i want to watch the series again) the bits you get of spike's backstory will probably inspire the same reaction as the episodes - ie, they give you the pieces and assume you'll put them together. (i was confused a lot.) i can't remember if you ever learn how jet ended up with a robot arm, tho.

>>And Ein is a corgi in space - what's not to like?<<

a genetically-engineered supercorgi in space, even!

So much good music and so consistently!

You do learn how Jet gets the robot arm, or at least, it's implied in Black Dog Serenade, which I really enjoyed, even if every plot twist was telegraphed (or maybe I'm just super familiar with noir conventions).
