up against your will

When I was all excited and squeeful about Bela in season 3 of SPN, I had to put up with people repeatedly slagging off on her my comments, even after I specifically and repeatedly asked people not to. It annoyed me, but I still enjoyed the character a lot and wanted to talk about her. So I did. (and I would be willing to bet that if I didn't make ( Read more... )

Different fandom, same tune. I completely agree with you on this. Why rain on someone's parade on their journal - our journals are NOT fan forums. You get your own space to spout off in favor of or against whatever you'd like.

Not hugely into the SPN fandom but just wanted to say that I agree with everything you just said.

I love Bela AND Castiel. So...there? I don't really have a point. Stupid fandom.

I am totes with you on the Dean/Castiel deal- it's, for some reason, even squickier to me than Dean/Sam. But hey, America's a great place; we can all have our opinions.

I roll mad love for Misha Collins who plays Castiel with such amazing alieness but I'm constantly conflicted about Castiel the character.

I still don't think it's fair that we never got Dean/Bela angry wall sex and that she never had the opportunity to explain herself to the boys. Bela's genesis, while hardly a complete excuse for her actions, was a telling explanation I felt should have been explored more thoroughly.

I only really disliked her because of Whedon's I mean, Kripke's virgin/whore complex.

As always, the majority of fandom can ... well, the icon is sort of self-explanatory.

I just got S4 today so I don't know what my opinion on Castiel will wind up being, but I loved, loved loved Bela.

I used to have someone on my flist who hated a character on Doctor Who that I loved. Hated her. And yes, it sort of bugged me, but I never made an issue of things because it wasn't my journal. We were not watching the same show, and that's okay.

People need to grasp that everyone will not have the same opinion on everything.

Word to this. Frankly, I was sad that they killed off Bela. I can do without Castiel but I don't mind him there either.

But getting rid of Bela is such a waste; here you have a character who is crafty and evil and vulnerable and snarky and deep and just all around fun. At least Meg gets to come back in other guises ...

Say, think Bela coulda clawed her way out of hell with Lucifer rising? Be great if she could come back and screw things up for the boys, no? Although this would mean that it would not be Lauren Cohen anymore and I heart her performance as Bela so much.

Hmmmm ....
