When I was all excited and squeeful about Bela in season 3 of SPN, I had to put up with people repeatedly slagging off on her my comments, even after I specifically and repeatedly asked people not to. It annoyed me, but I still enjoyed the character a lot and wanted to talk about her. So I did. (and I would be willing to bet that if I didn't make

I always find that reading about (or talking about, as the case may be) the reasons behind someone's likes or dislikes helps me to solidify and understand my reactions. You discussing your dislike of Castiel helps me to better understand the parts of his character which bother me as well as the parts of his character which I completely enjoy. If I was to be upset with your dislike, how would I grow as a fan?
For me, fandom is often a bit like sitting in a really good english lit class - everyone grasps a different meaning or metaphor from the source material based on background, education, and personal values. It's our differences which make the discussion vibrant.
Fingers crossed Season 5 will present something good for us ALL to dive

Maybe I can in the Psych/Reaper/SPN crossover. Maybe the devil can set him on fire. It can totally be a thing that I do.

And I'm with you on Castiel. I just...don't trust him, don't like him, don't like what he does to Dean, don't like what he says he'll do to Sam. He's just blech for me.
I think it was you, posted the list the other day? About things you want to see? And one of them was a return to the folklore/urban legend/etc aspect of the show. I too would LOVE it if Castiel would take a walk off a short pier and we could get back to the things the boys do best: saving people, hunting things. (I just wrote that completely backwards, which is a whole other show *snort*)

Much as I like Castiel, I don't feel the need to weep for his poor, persecuted angelic honour when you talk about throwing him in the fire, partly because I can see why you don't like him, but mostly because your comments are entertaining and un-faily. Life would be pretty dull if we all only ever interacted with people who have the exact same loves and hates as us, after all.
(I'm a wee bit more lol!sensitive when people hate on my favourite female characters, but fandom being as it is I reckon that's understandable.)
