Following up on my post from last night, Party and Bullshit by the Notorious B.I.G.

Speaking of, here's an excerpt from Newsweek's Oscar roundtable (thanks to hradzka for the link):

DOWNEY: I got a story for you. I go to Japan. "Iron Man" is opening there. I'm like, dude, this is my walk of fame. I go there and they go [he mimics a Japanese accent], " ( Read more... )

Hee. That roundtable is brilliant. I think my favorite is RDJ going, "should I feel shitty about Googling myself," and Anne Hathaway going "you should feel shitty about things, Robert."

Oh, "I've been trustworthy for 1500 days!" *snarf*

You ever have a title that is AWESOME and you are just dying to use it, but it doesn't fit anything you're actually writing, and you're tempted to use it ANYWAY because of the AWESOME? But you know you have to hold it back for a story that would really fit? I am having that right now. It would help, maybe, if I could actually write the story I'm working on, instead of just thinking about it and hoping the words will magically appear on the screen. I found an alternate title that I like, but I have the sad feeling that I will always look at this story and think it could have had the world's most AWESOME title, even if it didn't really fit. Sigh.Dude, I feel you hardcore. I just had this happen, oh, like today. Sometimes as I'm writing the story, a more appropriate title will make itself know and I'll save awesome title for another time, but if nothing better makes itself know I go with the awesome title. I hate Title Remorse. Nothing worse than looking at a story and thinking oh Story X that is not called X even though it should ( ... )

I did find a title I like that suits this story, so I will save the awesome title for something else - I think I have the seeds of an idea that will do it justice. I hope.

I never have awesome titles. :( Most of my WIPs are titled in my head the way Friends episodes are titled: "The One with the Horses" or whatever. I actually have to go and search songs or poetry for something half-decent when I finally have to title the thing, haha.

I have been keeping a list for years and years - every stray lyric or line of a poem that strikes a chord gets tucked away for possible future use. Because I really hate the last minute title scramble. I mean, Bartleby.com is great for it, but I would prefer not to.

I'm dying to see your title, but I'll wait until you've found the right fic.

My love for RDJ is boundless. He is so talented and flawed and beautiful.

The title is "Jesus Rides Beside Me (He Never Buys Any Smokes)" but it doesn't fit the story I am writing, so that has gotten a more fitting title, and this has gone on my To Use Someday list.

Oh, RDJ, never change. I mean, stay clean, but, you know, be funny about it.

Seconded!
