Such a nice, long chapter :))) I was getting really pissed at you, I mean, you wrote on your tumblr that you'll post an update "in a few hours" and all I could think about was: "How many hours is a few hours?" Yup. But I feel kinda long!fic depraved so I'm entitled to be a little impatient, right?

I loved Brian and Eli, uh, bonding over condom boxes. That was cute and I'm with Brian on not being an insane neat!freak with kids :) I don't know what to think of Delaney - sure, her story was heartbreaking but I don't know if her relationship with Justin (or Elise, at that) is very healthy. Huh ( ... )

I think you really took the most probable route with Gus. If you don't mind me rambling a bit, I think that the show didn't put enough emphasis on Brian's negative experiences with being gay. I don't know if you see it the same way, but the writers seemed to be quite keen on showing Brian as this "out and proud" example to the gay community, a person who doesn't give a shit about what other people think of him and who doesn't accept society's rules of living. This was always the most important part of his characterization, the part that defined him. And I think that the viewers too often forget about the fact that Brian did not come out to his parents for nearly thirty years, more than that, the only thing that made him do this was: a) his father terminal illness and much convincing from his friends and b) um, pure accident, when his mother kind of walked in on him and Justin. Despite all his talk about screwing everyone else and not caring what people think, Brian is strangely conformist when it comes to facing his bigot parents or ( ... )

Lovely update! Brian continues to develop feelings for Elise, as well as suffer longing for a more serious arrangement with Justin. Although, he will only grudgingly admit it to himself and did not want to explain Justin's presence to Gus. Speaking of Gus, seems that he is exploring his sexuality, although Brian is very concerned due his young age and the spectre of the bashing. Also, how will he react to Justin's reemergence in Brian's life, positively or negatively? I had no idea that that Gus had become so attached to Trevor.

And, now there will be a Christmas extravaganza at the House. I gotta feeling that we're in for some serious angst. Loved it, as usual!

Thank you, sweetie! Glad you liked it!

Spectre of the bashing---yes! I had tossed around the idea of really going into the bashing, but ultimately decided against it in the revisions. I'm glad the implications and subtle mentions were enough to make you feel like the bashing may be a huge factor in how Brian feels about Gus' sexuality.

Another awesome chapter. As you know, I love your Brian so I will skip my commentary about that for now ;)

Love the conversation between him and Gus. I love how your portrayed that mixture of adorable pride and worry. Despite all tries to the contrary, Brian is a good dad who would do anything to protect his kid. Even if that means, wishing for him to be straight so he won't have to face bigotry and hate. I love that bit. And I love Justin's reaction to it.

And yay for Brian taking that slight leap of faith with asking Justin to come to the house with him. I can so relate to that, to be turned down so many times that he actually forgot that sometimes you'll just be surprised and someone actually say "yes".

So yeah.... all my love for another wonderful update.

Thank you so much, hon! The feedback on the Brian-Gus thing means a lot because I worried myself sick over the decision to make Brian worried rather than all proud like you might expect from him.

I think over the course of the show, there have been a few scenes where it became quite obvious that Brian wouldn't be all proud of Gus turned out to be gay. I mean... he would be proud but he also know that other people might not think the same way. Hell, his own parents didn't, and Lindsay's parents didn't either and pretty much every straight person they encountered. He knows first hand what kind of "troubles" might await Gus, so... I think it makes perfect sense to be worried.

I know I would be if my little nephew turns out to be gay. I'd be the best fag hag aunt he could possibly have but I'd still be worried that other people might not think the same way.
