We got a last-minute show offer to play Middle East upstairs on Monday, 2/22!! We go on at 8:30... nice time slot for a Monday. I was very lucky to reach my bandmates B. and M., and our extra players J. and J. almost immediately to hear they can all do the show! Today was the first day I stayed at my new place all day (well, til now... running out in a few to a show in the Fenway) and didn't run over to Camberville. Part of it is I didn't have any appointments or things to do over there today anyway. Looks like very soon, I can have an opportunity to talk with, observe and maybe even do some more student teaching in a school system (BMW - your town!) where a former music ed classmate now has a job. I'm seriously reconsidering pursuing the public school music teaching avenue again. I can't say I fully gave up on it, but after my harrowing practicum, and then summer of dead-end interviews, I "took a break from it", which has now turned into a break of about 3 years. I'm not sure if I want to do the general music route... I think I'm much more ( Read more... )

Good things to note: I have a new student today! If all keep to the schedule as set up this week, all 4 students coming here will be all on Thursday afternoon, which is great. So far I've been able to schedule here and there and wherever, which has its obvious advantages and disadvantages. I did arrange to continue with my kid student at her ( Read more... )
