No voice....
I have had a really horrid cold, starting with sneezing, a raging sore throat and temperature and calming down to a productive cough and laryngitis. I'm now on day 10 and for the last two days have had almost no voice, croaking my way through work to a mixture of teasing and sympathy (all good-natured) and am at my wits end. London, baby!
I'm off to London this evening to see Stephen Sondheim's "Merrily We Roll Along" at the Menier Chocolate Factory. I'm really looking forward to it as it's not a show I've seen before. Mea culpa
I made a mistake today at work - for the first time in 24 years, I put the wrong marker onto a radiograph and the surgeon made an incision into the wrong side of the pelvis, couldn't find the pelvic fracture and we had to re-X-ray the cat before starting again. The extra incision is peanuts compared to it's other problems and everyone was very kind ( Read more... ) -

Hello....it's me again. I'm hoping that the combination of buying an iPad and downloading an LJ app onto it might make posting a little more frequent. I used to enjoy LJ a good deal and let Facebook and, to a lesser extent, Twitter take over rather. Dr Who - in which I unleash my inner geek.
I'm on call this weekend so rather tied to the local area and am spending this rainy afternoon doing cross-stitch with familiar DVDs playing in the background. Currently I'm "watching" the Doctor and Donna in "The Fires of Pompeii". It's made me realise how much I miss David Tennant as the Doctor. Something....well, nice.
I'm not really one for the heart-warming story or "chicken soup for the soul" but I saw this story on the BBC website and was strangely impressed. The video clip is particularly informative..... Spare two minutes to check this out. Enthusiasm is always good to see.

Three things.
1. I'm a big Food Doctor fan. Pitta bread, soya nuts, seed mix....you name it. But today I put my pitta bread in the toaster at work, added a slice of Leerdammer, bit in and found a piece of baked plastic in my mouth. I did mention this question in passing in a previous post and only received one reply (but thanks to that person!). So, to any of you who are now using or planning to use DreamWidth, could you tell me why? What does it provide that LJ doesn't?
