Just Hollywood's version of high end fan fic.  Some versions are okay, some surpass the original, and some are mediocre or worse.  But the bottom line?

It does indeed sell.

Yes, the soldier/spies know their stuff. :) I don't know Hawk's background, but Black Widow is genetically altered and older than she looks.

Geeks are giving it high praise. Only thing that can top it this year is TDKR.

Yeah, there are short but informative S.H.I.E.L.D., Avengers, and character summaries online.

The Nolan Batman series has been top notch. I won't compare it to Avengers or the single character films because there's a different vibe to Batman vs that Marvel group, but the money will be respectable either way. And I'm bummed we'll only get 3 from Nolan.
