Dot's Vocabulary

After 13 months of me doing it almost daily, Dot finally did the sign for "milk" today.  I think she knows what it means, although she hasn't yet asked for milk.

Other signs she knows:

Eat/Hungry = doesn't do it often, though
More = does it ALL the time, sometimes for "more" but I often think she thinks it means "I want something, and it's your job to ( Read more... )

If you haven't already, there's a cute peekaboo book about kitties called "There Are Cats in This Book." It might be a little beyond her at this point, but if she's obsessed with cats and peekaboo books, I think she will love it. Adelaide cried when I put this book back on the shelf in Borders.

1. She is adorable!
2. I am so amazed that you are going the extra mile to teach her to sign as well. I think it's wonderful! Not enough parents teach their children a second language so young, and even fewer consider sign.
3. Did I mention she's a cutie?

Woot for babies with dual vocabularies. Signing can be a wonderful thing!

We're pretty sure Gareth's first word is going to be "kitty."

And weirdly enough, he's a book fiend already. He's particularly fond of "How Do Dinosaurs Play With Their Friends," thank you to whomever picked that one out.

Strangely enough, that's the only one he hasn't chewed excessively on. It may be the thickness of the stock or it may be that I try to distract him with "Yellow" (five pages, five words) when he starts chewing on it...
