Quixotic, thoughtful, silly, indescribable.

I wish I had a more substantive update, but I'm just in the middle of stuff. The skating superhero fic is in beta. I'm about halfway through making a new mood theme, since I made my old mood theme in 2006. I am reading about 300 pages a day and... not writing nearly that much. I cleaned up my bookshelf today - put away the new books in their right ( Read more... )

I do the same thing with movies - watch a bit, mull it over, come back to it. I enjoy it!

For me, it's an ADHD thing. It's really hard for me to sit still through a whole movie, especially an intellectually demanding one.

Yup yup. ADD is why I never finish cleaning the house. I start in living room, go to kitchen to get a rag, decide to clean shelves....etc ;)

Are you another adult ADHD person? If so, awesome! If not, you... might want to be a little more cautious in the future.

I am still laughing so goddamned hard at the Canadian Adultery Tango revelation. I think it's hilarious on so many levels. I sure wish Sale and Pelletier luck at staying as a pair through and after their divorce, though; that's got to be, um, difficult.

It makes me kind of sad. With well-known couples, you know there's a lot of spin and PR, but you always hope they're really as in love as they seem to be.

Rumor has it that he's never been terribly nice to her on the ice, so why should anything change? Like, they've been skating together without particularly liking each other for a while now. They've been separated for 18 months.

It is sad, of course, but I have to admit that the particular circumstances of the media construction of both Olympic narratives being shattered in this particular way just tickles my funny bone. I suppose I feel bad for the people and amused by the public personae, really.

There's a whole new level of shit to deal with during a divorce, I think. Sigh. I shall totally snub him if I run into them in the coffee shops again this summer. *g*

I just read your other Canadian Adultery post yesterday so I'm more responding to that. Overall I am not surprised because I never got a good vibe from Sale and Pellitier (Pelletier in particular). But the dynamics of Pellitier/Virtue make me go "ICK." It reminds me of the whole Usova/Zhulin/Grishuk disaster. I just hope David and Tessa never, ever decide to skate together

Pelletier is definitely the icky one. I think he always looked sleazy and fake on the ice, and I hear he's not a nice guy at all.

Since Tessa is so much younger and the relationship began while David was still married to Jamie, I doubt there'll be any official acknowledgement of it for a while. Certainly not until the divorce is final, and probably not until they decide to get married themselves. If they last that long. And even then, I doubt they'd skate together anywhere but shows, since they skate in different disciplines.

Now I am imagining a group number consisting entirely of skaters who are dating each other while skating with someone else. It is a BIG group number, and I'm afraid to list who's in it publicly...

I'm quite intrigued by this group number and would love to hear more.

Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
I love you, Evan Bates,
And my tinhat says Ryan Bradley does too.

I have been adding little tinfoil doodads to my hat ever since you posted that Ryan/Bates fic. They make it so easy to ship them!
