You know, I actually wondered the same thing. Although, it might be that the body doesn't recognize there is a problem, so it doesn't know it needs to be healed. *shrug*
I was curious about that myself. Or for that matter if he could erase Peter's memory, would having that power protect you from that power.
As for Claire, I suspect it would work, as she's able to alter her brain on a daily basis (learn new things). As long as the Hatian's powers alter the brain in a similar way, it should work. If he's doing whole-sale damage to her brain tissue, it wouldn't.
I've also wondered if Syler (sp?) could take Claire's powers, and then she'd regenerate and live through it.
Yeah, I was also wondering how Claire would do things like... you know... *age*. It's all so confusing.
My thought with Sylar in relation to Claire's healing: We know that Claire can't heal while something is still blocking certain areas of the brain. When she was killed by jock-boy, she didn't re-animate until the stick that was stuck in her head was removed. So I'm thinking that if Sylar actually *removed* her brain (which is what I understand he's doing with his victims, even though I've never been able to really tell if the brain is *gone* or if he's just opening it up to take a look) then I think there would be a short in the system somewhere and she wouldn't be able to heal from it.
But my name's not Kring and I don't know what's going on. :)
Mmmm... maybe... but I just don't buy it. Her latest collapse, maybe, but I realy do think that her mental breakdown was because of what the Haitian did to her. I'm thinking that erasing "being attacked by a guy who could make the telephone fly off the table with his mind" was a little more complex than erasing "oh, look... my husband has a gun in his briefcase".
As you noted, Claire didn't heal from the accident with Jock-Boy until the branch was removed from her head. This leads me to believe that Claire is not indestructible.. but is immune to any sort of damage, save brain trauma.
Now.. if the Haitian's power works like you speculate, and actually kills or removes synapses from the brain, then it WOULD work on Claire. Since the Haitian has no way of putting them back so that she can heal, it would probably be like there was a blockage in her brain, thus short-circuiting her regenerative abilities, leaving her with a memory lapse, just like everyone else.
Can you tell me what happened at the very end of the show? the clock on my VCR must have been off.... I saw Claire and her dad driving off, and her asking if she'd ever see any of them again... and then the recording stopped. What else happened?
