She pulls the blanket over her shoulder. With a soft sound, Rory turns, his back to her. There is no light within the room except the stray strands from the moon and stars wandering through the window; the curtains are pulled back.
Her eyes flutter open and a sigh, drawn out, escapes.
How much longer can she wait? She wants her baby. It doesn’t matter that she saw her daughter become River; it doesn’t matter River can take care of herself. She simply wants her baby.
No, she decides. She can’t wait; no more. Come morning, she’ll call that number.
