He's looking down at his hands, very much lost in thought. He has been busy mopping the floors until Nephrite has felt... something... but cannot define it. He dares not hope, but this feeling... this is something reminiscent of his days before, something he felt only as a Shitennou. This burst of power. Could it be... that...?

Zoisite arrives at Crown at about this time. He looks steadily at Nephrite for some moments before speaking.

"Nephrite. I feel it. Something has happened?"

[nephenie]

"Zoisite...?" This is perhaps his first glance at the Shitennou in his own world. Even more surprising is that they both felt it. Nephrite shakes his head. "I'm not certain," he says, looking at his hands again.

"Zoisite," he says, more urgently now. "What has happened at the Dark Kingdom?"

Nope, not Zoisite's world nor the same Zoisite from Nephrite's world. This Zoisite, whoever he may be, shakes his head, too.

"There is no change within the Dark Kingdom," he relates.

[nephenie]

But there must be. Why else would--

"Are you the Zoisite of this universe?" he asks, just to be sure. He has learned to ask before assuming - though in this case he assumed before he asked. But it is not too late to correct things, not yet.

[nephenie]

"Jadeite," he says, surprised. "Are you... the same one before?" The one who showed compassion towards him, he means.

[nephenie]

"You felt it, then?" he asks, leaning over the counter in earnest. Nephrite shakes his head. "The power... I do not know if it is mine. All I know is that it is sudden, this feeling. But... I'm not certain..."

He knows he is rambling, but he is too confused. "All I know is that this... is something long absent from me. Ever since I became human."

[waterfell]

"Nephrite?" Mercury glances around the room, which she knows all too well, and then at the mop.

Twice the irony.

"Did something happen?" The way he's just staring at his hands...and she thought she'd sensed something earlier, but it's always difficult to be sure, for her.

[nephenie]

He looks up from his hand, sees her. Nephrite then lowers his hand. "What are you doing here?" he snarls, his thoughts too jumbled up.

[waterfell]

"You're a curiosity. I came to see you mopping," Mercury says pertly. She smirks, invites herself to slip up onto the counter to take a seat there, legs dangling over the edge.

[nephenie]

Well. He won't give her the satisfaction. He goes as far as shoving the mop inside a closet, and moving around the counter.

"What's going on in the Dark Kingdom?" he asks.

Minako practically waltzes into the place, eyes bright with anticipation. "Uwaaa! I always thought Motoki-san should do karaoke too! This is great! Everything looks so professional!"

She blinks, looking down at Nephrite. She isn't sure this is the one she knows, so she goes for a neutral compliment, or what she considers one. "And so does the help! Good job! Continue to do your best!"

Really, she's just excited the nexus didn't bring her to the Dark kingdom again, as much fun as she had last time.

He looks up, and is taken aback. This one... is she...?

"Venus."

Minako's smile turns into a half-hearted scowl. "So it is you, Nephrite. This is where you work? It's awesome!"

[nephenie]

He averts his eyes. It was different, her seeing him in the forest. At least he could pretend that he belonged there.

Her seeing him here... it was humiliating. Degrading.

At least the senshi of his world did not know him.

"What are you doing here?"
