"Watch where you're going, you stupid hum---" ...an? Nephrite does a classic double-take when he realizes who the 'stupid human' is. Not a human at all, in fact. And someone he knows.

"Jadeite? What are you doing here?"

Now wait a minute. Nephrite may not know everything the shitennou are up to, but he knows this much. "Is Kunzite keeping that senshi for himself?" Seems like she's the maid, isn't she?

What? What?! Come on now, he didn't even punch that woman!

"Huh?" That would be a total blank from one Nephrite.

"So what? It's her fault she's not watching where she's going!" Nephrite is full of self-righteous confidence. He is right. People should get out of his way instead of being there to get run into. It's inconvenient for him, too, you know.

Oh heavens it's Mercury. What should he do?

... Wait. What the heck was with that sudden panic? She always manages to make him feel that way somehow. Say something, Nephrite, say something.

"Mercury..." Right. She's going to love being called by her senshi name in public. He could smack himself.

He continues his stunning foray into the world of wit with, "You got older." Dumbass; it's obviously an alternate.

"Yeah." He doesn't elaborate because it's still a bit embarrassing that Mercury is seeing him work like some servant. He'll be able to face her a lot better once he's pulled himself out of here and on to something better. Hence, the school brochures littering what would otherwise be the child's seat in the cart.

Mmhmm. Nephrite has entrance exams coming up. Eventually. He'll have to start a late term.

With Nephrite's luck, the boxes will be groceries. The same ones he just bought.

What's more remarkable than the sheer depths of Nephrite's bad luck, however, is his greeting to Kunzite. "Good afternoon."

Not the enemy, no. Nephrite's finally had time to calm down about a lot of things like that.

"I can still hit you if you cause any trouble," he announces smugly.

Nephrite notices. Because it's his business to notice things like that. And to give him credit, his first thought is Zoisite. (When things go weird with music? The weird guy is somewhere around. It's a natural law or something.)

He'd say people will probably notice the music... but they probably won't.

"What are you doing here?" His brows knit together in brief confusion until he answers himself. "The nexus, huh?"

"Shopping." And he just dares Zoisite to make any jokes or mock him. His eyebrow twitches upward.
