They caught her. Somehow, for some reason, Beryl is in jail. Or at least, she's been placed in a rather cold and damp-looking cell; the smell of must and grime is all about. Notably, she wears no jewelry or ornaments whatsoever

"Jadeite-sama?" Yep, it's back to the formal honorific. She's not sure whether to hope he might help her, or whether to be ashamed to death at him seeing her, like this, here.
"It is nothing," she tells him, snappish at first, angry at everyone and everything for her imprisonment here. She looks away. When the silence stretches, she turns back finally.
"This is for a crime I did not commit," she informs the young shitennou. "I am accused of theft."
If Beryl is surprised to find the princess entering through the door, she can be no more surprised than Serenity herself. After all, the moon princess had certainly not been expecting to enter the dungeons of the Golden Palace when she had been making her way through the desolate palace upon the moon. And to find Beryl in a cell... Big blue eyes widen as the princess rushes to the bars of the cell.
Beryl...san? Like equals? She's stunned. Only in her wildest fantasies has this Beryl played queen yet. It must be an alternate, and yet she knows perfectly well immediately who the girl is an alternate of.
Equals? No. This Serenity knows how much in debt she is to the woman before her, despite the fact that this is most certainly not the Beryl of her own world. After all, it's her own fault that Beryl was denied happiness in the past. Closing her eyes for a moment, Serenity shakes off the memories, and instead gives the red head a worried look through the bars.
"Why are you here, Beryl-san? What happened? Are you alright?"
This new indignation and pride makes her want to retort that it is hardly the moon princess' concern what happens to some Earth palace maid. The part of her beginning to side with anti-Moon factions wants to say the Moon Princess has no right stepping into anything on Earth. (If Endymion... if Endymion would only feel that way, too, and choose a girl from Earth, would she have a chance?)
The part of her used to obedience and service to the princess and her entourage still manages to come to the fore. "I was accused of theft," Beryl explains. "I stole nothing."
