I know I’ve been silent for several days, and thought about now some of you might be wondering what’s up. There been some health drama (nothing serious), personal frustration, and some good news, but I’m still writing and up to no good as usual. Now I know being fanatasy character Saka and Kitara weren’t really ndn, but dammmit they were the closest we’d ever gotten in a TV show.

I thought of you when I heard the awful news, but then I thought of everyone I know who had even more right to be angry than I. I'm angry because I saw my fellow people of color being whitewashed; how much more furious must you be?

Darn I couldn't find the user you linked. I am thrilled so many people get why this is upseting. There are so many talented Asian and ndn actors out there who could do these roles. Every time I even think about that movie now I am so angry. As much as I love Avatar, it's even more maddening that they are fucking the story up already and they haven't even started filming yet.

A friend of mine told me that we still have the cartoon, and that we do. But it would have been nice for them not to wreck the movie.

I'm tired of settling. Yes, we have the cartoon, which is making no more new episodes. The movie was going to me this wonderous thing. I swear, I saw it in my head and it was awe inspiring. Now Hollywood has thrown shit on my dreams like a bunch of little monkeys in overpriced business suits. I have to do something, white this letter he talks about or anything, or I will go crazy.

That's the thing. It's not just the Avatar fans who are mad. I've seen people who have never seen a single episode that are livid about the casting for the movie. My nine year old recognised the casting was, and I quote, "This is stupid!". Why can't these grown ups get it? There's this antiquated veiw in Hollywood and Broadway that white folk don't want to see POC in POC roles, but if that was the case, if America was so loving of monocomatic images, then someone tell them to explain to me how we managed to elect Obama? America is changing, and the entertainment industry bettter catch the fuck up or be left holding the check.
