Oh and yes, Dawn is incredibly annoying. Glad I'm not the only one who noticed. Joss could have done a MUCH better job with that character. Her backstory's actually quite interesting, so I'm at a loss as to why she was turned into your typical shallow whiny teenager-stereotype. Seems the exact opposite of the positive and empowering treatment of teenagers (and girls) that Joss has done in the series. She actually reminds me of Kim Bauer from 24, which I'm sure you didn't watch, but suffice it to say you should just be thankful that Joss never had Dawn nearly eaten by a cougar.
When I first saw the episode where they had you convinced for half an hour that Dawn was a potential slayer and could actually end up with the responsibility of saving the world, I did a lot of shuddering and cringing. In fact, I had an overpowering urge to learn to speak a few demon languages and brush up on the particulars of human sacrifices so I'd be ready for the coming change in governments
