Hello, my three loyal readers.

Some of you may know that there is a test of Japanese language ability here called the Japanese Language Proficiency Test. I had taken the most difficult level (Level 1) when I first arrived in Japan and failed. Two years later, I took it again with much better results.

I had actually bought the engagement ring a while back in February. So, while I was happy that you and RooG got married, I was a bit annoyed that you jerks had to go ahead and steal my thunder. D:<

The JLPT results don't come in a letter, actually. I had to pay an extra 1000 yens to get the A4 certificate. It's not particularly useful right now, though :P

Oh my god, CONGRATULATIONS you guys! *confetti* What are your future plans? Do you have a date in mind for the wedding? How did you propose? I guess I'm just loaded with questions right now, huh.

And it looks like you mutilated the test. Congrats on the results! And it's actually good to know that the individual category results show up on that piece of paper. I just barely scraped by with a pass on 2kyuu a year ago, and while I can say, "Holy shit! See how I went from a 66% on 2kyuu to a 65% on 1kyuu in a year? That's progress!" it doesn't necessarily lend me much comfort in my job search.

I just now realized that 恭惜 is probably a typo for 恭喜.

Ah, so it is. I have no idea how that happened, since I distinctly remember looking for the character 喜, finding it, and berating myself for forgetting that it was the same one as in 喜歡. In my defense, the radical on 惜 seems appropriate for 喜 too. That's the good news. The bad news is that, if 恭惜 has any meaning at all, it's something like "respectful condolences."

Sigh. Why do character input schemes have to be so problematic?
