So TIL…

We had a sliding closet door here that for years has been difficult to operate. I assumed it was due to stuff against it, inside, or maybe it was just not made well. Today I went to look at it more closely, and, other than two screws being loose on one of the hangers and one loose on the floor guide, nothing else seemed wrong. Yet it still dragged ( Read more... )

ahhhh, the fun of antiques ... congrats on the door solution!

and here's hoping the powers-that-be can get-with-it on getting your financial stuff correct! *eye roll* soem of them are clearly not reading the *** manual

I'm guessing bear-a-thon means staying up to watch the ball drop in your time zone :D

and oh my... you had a young friend loss as well? :\ *hugs* ...

I ignored the door issue for years because we only used the closet to store stuff in. We decided it would be nice to hang coats in, instead of on hooks on various doors, so necessity is … well yes :o)

This guy pulls no punches. He told them flat out they could get government audited this drags on.

Bear-a-Thon *sigh* over the years we’d binge watch assorted cartoon series, like Gummi Bears, TaleSpin, Yogi. No more. I don’t even have the tv on.

*snugs the hugs* 1974 was disastrous. We can commiserate some time if you wish. Or not :o/

I kinda miss the antique built-in "pocket doors" that I left behind at the old house... but, can't keep everything I guess... including stuff that gits shredded ;>

I don't even get tv reception anymore to where I've moved :D ... everything must come in on internet. I could buy satellite, but haven't determined it to be worth it.

Commisserating iz good ^v^ ... Yez, let's shall, and of course we can always cover a miriad of topics, not just one or two, as time and energy permitz!

I call it tv but it’s cable, of course. We can only get maybe three stations as actual antenna tv, all snowy!

DM in process *smiles*

I hope you'll be able to get your health 'work' done before retiring. Will you have health insurance at all afterward?

Old journals etc. can be difficult to look at, yes; I feel the same about mine. Additionally, when they're old but not super old yet, I worry that people who might look at them will think that they're still showing me how I am, and get the wrong impression.

Ah well.

Happy new year!

I’ll have health insurance via Medicare/Medicaid but it won’t be as good as what I have (and I’ll have to pay for it).

This was 80% venting, the old journal, and I was surprised by how messed up I was at the time. Had someone read it then they would have thought me suicidal. Perhaps I was. But life went on :o)

Happy New Year to you as well!

Ah yes, the simplest solutions staring us right in the face!

I hope the financial stuff gets straightened out. You are right though, medical coverage is so damn important!

I highly doubt I'll be awake at midnight. I don't go out on New Years Eve, too many drunk drivers on the road and I don't like crowds. Tomorrow, Tom and I are going to Lisa's house (Tom's sister) for pork and sauerkraut, a Penn-Dutch tradition!

I'm usually good at keeping up with shredding old documents and stuff, I find it so satisfying!

I have a mantra about most, not all, technology: it’s made so monkeys can fix it. Meaning folks like me ;o)

Finances will get resolved, insurance as well, and all, hopefully, satisfactorily!

We had Chinese, and now I’m alone with the pup and eating some crackers. Pork and sauerkraut sounds delicious!

Heh, my shredding today went back to 1983! I hope to be caught up soon.
