I'm giving up on this livejournal thing because I finally got my own blog. I will keep this site up to archive my old entries but don't expect any new material. I'm hoping this takes off nicely because I enjoy having complete control of the code.

About a year ago, the unthinkable happened. That's right, my ranking at google had dropped. I have not been able regain the rank of number one until now. My smugmug account is now the number one Thijs de Vries according to Google (and Microsoft Live, but fuck those guys). Hopefully I will retain this title. Yesterday I had the great fun of trying a coffee brown ale. It does not use actual coffee, but a malt that is roasted so that it has very strong coffee like aroma and flavor. It smelled really good during the mashing. Yesterday was a bit of a wake up call that I should probably invest in a grain crusher if I wanna continue to brew all grain. My ( Read more... )

This article explains how people are now being targeted for possible number combinations on there license plates. Though extremist organizations are terrible, it seems what is happening here has the potential of targeting normal people who just happen to have unfortunate number combo's on there cars. There has been talk on the news of lowering the drinking age to the age of 18. I believe this would be a stupid idea, the drinking age should be lowered to 19 instead.
