I personally search by year or fandom. The day tags just let me know what number I should be on for posting! I'm an airhead that way!

I typically only search by fandom and by author when searching for fics. I only use the day tags as an author.

I search by fandom pretty exclusively. If you had pairings, I'd search by them too, but that would be a huge number of tags.
