A separate Day: 01 and Year: 2012 tag sounds far more sensible, personally!

Personally, I search by fandom mostly. I seems more reasonable to have them separately. Day: __, and then Year: __ so that it takes up less space. That way you can even have all the fics done that year in one place : )

That was my thought too! Far less space, and makes it easier to assign tags when posting a story :)

Fandom tags are the most important as far as searching. IMAO.

Oh, I totally agree, I just didn't want to change out the date tags if lots of people were using them :D
