(Continued off from when Sungmin finds Kyuhyun on the floor)

Eunhyuk scrambled to reach his phone, but after a few moments of fumbling, he realized he had left it at home. He looked at Sungmin with an exasperated expression.

Sungmin, not knowing what had happened, yelled out, "Eunhyuk! Wh-Why aren't you c-calling?"

Eunhyuk hesitantly replied, "Sungmin, I, I left my phone at home..."

"YOU DID WHAT?!" Sungmin freaked out, "W-Well, what a-are we going t-to do now?"

"We can look for a payphone, or-"

"No! We w-won't find one th-this late at night!" Sungmin sniffled.

"Then we have no choice but to carry him to the hospital. But the closest one is like, a mile from here!"

"It d-doesn't matter! E-Either we help h-him now, or we d-don't help him at all!"

"Alright. So how are we going to get him to the hospital?"

"We'll e-each take turns g-giving him piggyback r-rides there."

"WHAT?! ;A;"

~
Donghae wiped his eyes with a tissue, now calmed down. He looked at the open door. He sighed, "Kyuhyun... I hope he's ok."

He always thought that Kyuhyun was a person that didn't care about anything. Even at work, when something terrible happened, Kyuhyun didn't bother to bat an eyelid. He never knew how dedicated he could be, having worked alongside him all this time.

Donghae wasn't stupid. He knew that Kyuhyun didn't enjoy his presence. Even on the day Kyuhyun got sick, he knew that Kyuhyun was the one who yelled at the baby. Contrary to what everyone thought, Donghae was not as dumb as he seemed. Or at least, he thought so anyways.

But the only thing that ever confused him in life, was Eunhyuk. He honestly didn't know why he loved him. All he knew, was that he felt a strong pull radiating from him. And that it was so strong, that Donghae would lose the will to live if Eunhyuk left. He would not be able to handle the emotional trauma.

Perhaps it was because they were soul mates.

Donghae once heard, "If you meet your soul mate in life, then your fate is forever intertwined with that person, and separation, is very costly."

At first, he didn't believe that kind of "magical crap". But after meeting Eunhyuk, he realized that he was wrong.

Maybe that was why he felt so upset when Eunhyuk and Sungmin were together. Maybe he felt that Sungmin threatened his spiritual bond with Eunhyuk.

They had first met in college, when Donghae was looking for his classroom. However, they were not able to properly introduce themselves. It was really in Dance club, that they were able to get to know each other. (Lol, sorry for the lame club name xD)

They both shared an undying love of dance. And ironically, when they re-met in Dance, it wasn't love at first sight. It was rivalry.

~
(Flashback to Donghae's time in college)

Donghae felt really excited about his first year at college. It was the first time he had been so far away from home. Initially, he didn't even want to go to college. He wanted to stay at home, and care for his father, who was sickly. But his father urged him to go out and continue his education. He didn't want his son to give up his own future for him. No, that was practically every parents' worst nightmare.

Following his father's suggestion, Donghae continued his education at Mokpo University [A/N: totally random university lol].

Upon stepping onto campus, he was amazed by the huge amount of students there. "Woahhhhhhhh!~" he exclaimed. The atmosphere of the place was lively, which made him grin like an idiot.

Although his family did not have a lot of money, Donghae was able to attain a full scholarship after enrolling in a raffle contest. Yes, a raffle contest. All he did, was put his name on a piece of paper, and put it in a cardboard box. He never thought he would actually win. In fact, he didn’t even know why people were offering scholarships as prizes for raffle boxes. It was ridiculous. But it was some kind of promotion, so Donghae thought, hey, why not? After winning, he just thought he was just really lucky that day.

Looking at his schedule, he wasn't sure what room the first period class was in. He looked around for a clock, and saw that he had 5 minutes before classes started. Crap, I need to hurry.

He ran around the campus, around the hallways in the buildings, and he still had no idea where to go. Then, the bell rang. Damn it, why am I always late on the first day of classes?!

He turned around, and accidentally bumped into another student. Looking up, he apologized, "Oh, sorr-"

The other student blinked, seemingly unfazed, "Hmm? Oh, my bad." Then he saw Donghae holding a piece a paper. "Are you lost?" he asked.

Donghae, who was stuck in a trance, did not reply. He stared at the guy in front of him. It was then that he was glad he chose this college instead, out of all the other ones.

"Um, hello?" the guy waved his hand in front of Donghae's face.

Donghae snapped out of his fazed state, "H-Huh? Oh, sorry...," he blushed.

"Are you lost?" the guy repeated, gesturing to Donghae's schedule.

"Um, yeah, actually, I am."

"Oh, well alright then. Can I see your schedule?"

Donghae nodded, and as he passed the piece of paper over to the guy, their hands touched and Donghae jumped, feeling an electrical shock. The other student didn't seem to notice.

After examining Donghae's schedule, he smiled. Donghae felt his chest tighten. He coughed, and it relaxed again. The student looked up from the paper, and asked worriedly, "Are you ok?"

"Y-Yeah. I'm fine, thanks." Donghae looked away in embarrassment.

The student went back to checking Donghae's schedule. After a few minutes, he looked up again, catching Donghae's attention with the sudden movement. "Well, luckily, you're in the right building," he smiled, which made Donghae's heart flutter, "All you have to do, is walk down that hallway," he pointed in a certain direction, "and at the very end, is your classroom." He then handed the schedule back to Donghae.

Donghae looked up in gratefulness. "Thanks so much for helping me!" he grinned. He didn't notice that the other student's cheeks were tinted pink with admiration.

The guy grinned back, "It's alright...," he paused. He stared at Donghae for a minute or two, before continuing, "You know, it's too bad we don't have any classes together. I would really like to get to know you better."

Donghae's eyes widened in surprised, and he stuttered, "M-Me too..." He mentally face-palmed. Argh, why did I stutter?! I bet he thinks I'm stupid or something...

"Well, you should go to your class now, or else you're going to get scolded by the teacher. See you later, I hope." The student smiled and winked at him before taking his leave. And Donghae thought his exit was totally cool and awesome.

Donghae turned around and headed towards the classroom. Inside, he was squealing a like a little girl, which was odd, because had never felt this way before, so he had no idea what to do with these feelings. He stopped walking when he reached the door. He heard a person, presumably the teacher, talking. Taking a deep breath, he grabbed the doorknob and twisted it. When he walked in, he saw infinite pairs of eyes on him. He gulped, feeling uncomfortable. But since he was not a shy person, despite feeling uncomfortable, he was able to boldly walk over to the teacher.

The teacher, who was female, seemed kind and understanding. She looked at him, and gave him a warm smile. She asked, "And you are?"

Donghae replied, "I'm Lee Donghae, ma'am."

"Ooh, don't call me 'ma'am'," the teacher laughed, "That makes me feel so old! Just call me, Miss Jung!"
Donghae nodded in acknowledgement. But... She's not exactly young either...

Miss Jung seemed deep in thought for a moment, before speaking up, "Well, I know I look really kind and forgiving, but I want you to know I can be strict as well."

Donghae didn't mind. He knew that people like her found it REALLY difficult to take disciplinary action. One of them being his mother. So he was used to dealing with people like this. All you had to do, was act aegyo, and they would practically let you do anything you want, since their greatest weakness was super cuteness. Fortunately, Donghae was not the type of person to take advantage of others for bad reasons. He didn't even like to litter.

"And for my first act of discipline, I shall punish you for your lateness," the teacher smiled.

Donghae smiled back at her, which made her all flustered. She continued, "U-Um, for your punishment, you have to introduce yourself to the entire cl-class, and list a hobby or two."

Donghae nodded, feeling content with the punishment. That seems easy. I was going to introduce myself anyways. Hmm... A hobby...?

Donghae turned towards the whole class and shouted, "Hello?", which caught their attention. When Donghae was still talking to the teacher, some of the students took this as an opportunity to talk amongst themselves. Now focused on Donghae, the room was unnervingly silent.

Donghae continued, waving at his classmates, "Hi. I am Lee Donghae." Then he grinned, which caused an explosion of whispers everywhere. Although it was mostly from the girls.

"Kyah~ He's so cute!" he heard one girl whisper.

Another girl whispered, "I wonder if he has a girlfriend..."

Donghae then bowed, finishing his introduction. He looked back at teacher, and stated, "Miss Jung said that since I was late, I would have to introduce myself to the class and list a hobby or two."

Miss Jung nodded in agreement.

"But the problem is, I don't have any hobbies. My father has been sickly ever since I was young, and since I devoted all my time to caring for him, I never really had the chance to do anything else."

"Aww...," was heard all around the classroom.

The teacher sniffled, obviously moved by his story, and asked, "W-Well, I'm sorry about your f-father. But isn't th-there at least something y-you like to do?"

Donghae thought for a moment, then responded with a happy and excited expression, which caused some more squeals. "Well, I do like to dance...," he grinned.

"Oh? Really?" the teacher seemed pleased, "Well, can you please show us some moves?"

"Sure!" Donghae agreed.

He moved some chairs and desks out of his way. He wondered about what what he should dance. Then he remembered a dance he saw on TV that looked pretty cool, so he decided to go with that. As he danced (lol, I’m not at describing this stuff xD), impressed murmurs of praise and amazement wafted around the room. Even the teacher herself was astounded by his awesome dance moves. When he was done, claps of appreciation practically deafened him. He bowed, signaling the end of his performance.

The teacher squealed with delight, "My, my, your performance was quite breathtaking! Hmm... You know, you should join the Dance club!"

Donghae's eyes widened, "They have a Dance club here?"

The teacher nodded, "And fortunately for you, the studio they use is just a few doors away from this classroom!"

Donghae beamed and bowed again, "Thank you, Miss Jung!"

Miss Jung shook her head, "No worries."

Donghae grinned and looked at all his classmates. "So um, where should I sit?"

"Oh, right," the teacher realized, "Hmm, you can sit wherever you like, as long as there’s an empty seat, it's available!"

At this, all the girls tried to shove the people next to them off. Admist all the commotion, they hadn’t noticed that Donghae had already walked to the back of the room and had chosen to sit next to another male student, who was reading a book, seemingly ignoring everyone. When all the girls realized that Donghae had already chosen a seat, they all cursed under their breaths. They sent death glares to the boy next to Donghae, but he didn't seem to care.

Donghae settled down, taking off his coat and schoolbag. Hanging them off the edge of his chair, he turned to the boy next to him and smiled, "Hi, I'm Donghae!" He stuck his hand out for a handshake.

The boy ignored him, still reading the book.

"Hello?" Donghae waved his hand around the boy's face.

"I heard you the first time you introduced yourself," the boy answered, while still engrossed in his book.

"Oh, ok! So, what's your name?"

"Kim Kibum."

"Nice to meet you, Kim Kibum-shii!"

Kibum did not answer.

Donghae was confused, "Um, Kibum-shii, why are you reading a book? Is the book really good or something?"

"Mmm," was Kibum's reply.

Donghae observed the book cover, but couldn't understand any of the symbols on it. He tried to ask, "What's the book abou-"

"Look, it'll take more than good looks and talent to win my friendship," Kibum sighed, his head now out of the book, "And for your information, the book is in English, so I'm sure you wouldn't understand. Now stop bothering me, and leave me alone, alright?" He went back to reading.

Donghae was taken aback. "... You... You think I'm good looking and talented? Wow, no one's ever told me that before!" Donghae smiled.

Kibum mentally face-palmed. Why is he still talking to me? That should've driven him away!

"Well, for your information, I think you're not so bad yourself!" Donghae grinned, poking Kibum's right cheek.

Kibum blushed; Donghae was starting to get past his seemingly cold façade.

"And I know some English!" Donghae continued, "Here, let me show you: ‘You’re so gorgeous’!"

When Kibum heard this, he tried his best to hold his laughter in. The way Donghae said it was just so terribly pronounced and unrecognizable, that it was utterly ridiculous. He himself didn't even know what Donghae was saying. He failed at keeping it in, and bursted into laughter, alerting the rest of the whole class. Everybody turned to look at him and Donghae. Crap, I drew attention to myself.

Donghae then suddenly started laughing as well because he was happy that Kibum finally showed some emotion. He wondered, How did such a quiet guy turn into someone loud? Was it something I said?

When everyone saw that Donghae was laughing, they went back to half-listening to the teacher's lecture. Donghae slowly calmed down, wiping the happy tears out of his eyes.

"Ahh...," he sighed, "That was a good laugh."

He looked at Kibum, who was now back to reading his book.

Donghae asked, "So why did you laugh at me before? Is my English THAT bad?"

"Yes. I couldn't even tell that you were speaking English," Kibum nonchalantly replied.

"Noooo, Kibum-shii, you're being extra mean to me!" he pouted.

"I'm telling you the truth. Believe me if you want to. If not, then don't." Kibum was back to his cool demeanor.

"Well, I was actually saying 'you're gorgeous' in English."

"Wow, what a surprise," Kibum answered sarcastically.

"Should I say some other stuff in English? I learned some curse words, heehee~"

"Hmm. Do whatever you wa- Wait, what? No! No more English!" If Donghae spoke any more English, Kibum knew he was going to die of laughter.

"Woah, woah! ‘Calm down’, Kibum-shii!" Donghae spoke some more English, "Kibum-shii, ’please calm down’."

This resulted in more laughter from Kibum, who could not help but laugh at Donghae's terrible English.

"Ok, ok!" Kibum made a "stop" sign with his hand, "Please, stop speaking English!"

Donghae nodded in agreement, patiently waiting for Kibum to calm down.

When Kibum was finally done laughing, he continued, "Alright, I'll be your friend."

Donghae was filled with delight.

"Just stop speaking English, ok?"

Donghae nodded, happy to have a new friend.

"Let me see your schedule," Kibum requested.

"Huh? Why?" Donghae asked.

"To see what classes we have together, stupid."

"Ooooohh, I see now," Donghae tried winking at him.

"What the hell are you doing with your eyes? Did you get some dust in them or something?"

Donghae laughed, "No, I was trying to wink at you!"

"Well, don't. It makes you look like you're going blind or something."

"Hmph, I bet you ENJOY being mean to me, Kibum-shii. ;A;," and with that, Donghae took out his schedule and handed it to Kibum.

Kibum took the paper and starting comparing it to his own schedule. "You don’t have to call me Kibum-shii anymore. We're friends now. Just call me Kibum."

"Ooh, okies, Kibum~"

Kibum didn't respond, too engrossed in comparing classes. After a while, he nonchalantly piped up, "Well, it seems as if we have all the same classes together."

"WOAH! REALLY?! THAT'S SO ‘GORGE’-"

"Don't, say ‘gorgeous’! What did I tell you? Do you even know what ‘gorgeous’ means?"

"Ooh~ you spoke English! It sounds awesome! :'D And I think gorgeous means awesome?"

"Well, I know it's better than yours."

"Yah, Kibum! Stop being mean to meeee~ ;____;"

"Whatever. And ‘gorgeous’ means 'beautiful and magnificent in appearance'."

"Coolio~ You're so smart, Kibum!"

Kibum secretly blushed again, "Th-Thanks..."

The rest of the day went on like this, with Donghae amazing all of the people in his classes and annoying Kibum, who secretly didn't mind Donghae's presence. In fact, he thought it was nice to have a friend like Donghae, someone that was honest; a person that did not judge others.

Eventually, the classes ended, and of course, Donghae wanted to head over to the Dance club.

"Kibummieeeee~" Donghae had already come up with a nickname for Kibum.

"What?" Kibum was packing up.

"I'm gonna go over to the Dance club now!~" he announced.

"So?"

"So, do you want to go with me?"

"No. Why would I go?"

"I don't know... Maybe I want some company?"

"Too bad. Go find someone else."

"Awws! Kibummie!~" he whined.

"For the last time, no. I don't even dance. There's no reason for me to go."

"Everybody can dance! Which means you can too!"

"Nooooo. How many times do I have to say it?"

"Please Kibummie? PLEASEEEEEE!!!! ;A;"

"Ugh, fine! Ok, I'll go with you, but don't expect for me to cheer for you."

"YAY!~ Thanks Kibummie!~ :'D" Donghae gave Kibum a bear-hug.

"Ok... Invasion of personal space here... Back up!"

"Sorry!" Donghae grinned. Then he started to skip happily to the Dance club.

"You know," Kibum spoke up, "If that's the way you're going to go to the club, then I don't I want to be seen in public with you."

Donghae smiled and grabbed Kibum's hand, pulling him the rest of the way to the club. When they were near the club, they could see that there was a crowd of people at the entrance.

"Wow!" Donghae exclaimed, "Do they want to join the club too?"

"Probably not. It looks like they're watching something," Kibum responded.

As they got closer, they could hear music coming from inside the room, and a lot of foot steps. When they reached the crowd of people, somebody there recognized Donghae and announced his arrival. Everybody in the crowd turned to look at Donghae, who waved. Then another explosion of whispers flew around.

One girl whispered, "OMG! It's Donghae! ... Are they going to have a dance battle?"

Another girl whispered, "I still think Donghae’s a better dancer..."

Everybody made way for Donghae to go through. At this, Donghae smiled, "Awws! Thanks you guys!" Some girls squealed.

He pulled Kibum along with him, who seemed quite unhappy with being squished by a bunch of people. When they got into the studio, Donghae looked around. Then he froze. Kibum looked at his face, sensing the sudden stiffness. He quietly observed the environment and saw what Donghae was staring at. There was another male student dancing alone. Donghae watched with awe, and when the male student finished dancing, his ending pose was facing him.

Donghae's heart beat faster as he laid his eyes on who it was. "It... It's you!" It was the guy who helped with directions when he was lost.

Kibum was surprised at Donghae's nervousness. He had never seen him this way. In fact, no one did.

The guy smiled, "Yup, it’s me. I guess we did get to see each other again."

Donghae nodded, a little dazed.

The male student continued, "So, what are you doing here? Are you here to ogle me while I dance?"

Donghae's face became red from embarrassment. "N-No! I came here because, I want to join the Dance club!"

The male student's eyes widened, "Oh, really? Well, you should know, that I'm the president of the club~" He winked at Donghae.

Donghae almost died right then and there. His knees felt wobbly. Kibum looked at him with a nonchalant expression, but he felt worried inside.

Donghae stuttered, "Th-Then what do I need to do to j-join?"

"All you have to do, is follow my moves," the student answered.

"That's all I have to do?"

"Yup. It should be easy, if you're good enough."

Oh no he didn’t!, Donghae thought.

Donghae accepted, "Alright! I'll you take you up on your offer!"

The student smirked, "Good."

And so the competition started.

For the first few moves the guy presented (sorry not good at describing dance moves xD), Donghae thought it was a piece of cake.

Donghae laughed, "Is that all you’ve got?"

"Psh, those were just warm-ups. This is where it gets real," the male smiled back.

One by one, all the things that the male student demonstrated, Donghae was able to follow. Not once, did he ever find it difficult to copy the moves. In the end, they started dancing in unison. This made the spectating crowd behind them (which were mostly girls) cheer and squeal even louder. Kibum was sitting on a chair, seemingly polishing his glasses.

They both ended at the same time, out of breath and panting from all that dancing.

Donghae turned to look at the guy next to him. He commented, "You know, you're pretty good at dancing."

The guy replied, "Thanks, you're not too bad yourself."

"So... am I in?"

The student nodded, "Definitely."

Donghae grinned, although he was squealing like a girl inside again. "By the way, I'm Lee Donghae," he introduced himself.

The student responded, "So you must be the new freshman that everybody's talking about."

"Huh? Everybody? What's everybody saying about me?"

"Well, I heard from some people that you were an awesome dancer, and cute. They're right about that."

Donghae's eyes widened. He stuttered, "Wh-Which part are you t-talking about?"

"Both."

Donghae's cheeks blushed a pink hue. He tried going off topic to avoid the embarrassing compliment, "W-Wow, how did I get so popular? Why didn't I notice this?"

"Maybe it's because you never pay attention?" the guy teased.

"H-Hey!" Donghae shouted, all flustered, "I pay attention!"

"Then what's my name?"

"... Um..."

"Give up?"

"N-No! Give me some more time, I'll remember!"

"Silly, I haven't even told you my name yet!"

"Ooh!" Donghae blushed in embarrassment, "Well, I told you mine, so you have to tell me yours!"

"Ok, ok... I'm Lee Hyukjae. But you can call me Eunhyuk."

"Eunhyuk? You mean like, 'silver'?"

"Yup."

"That's... That's so weird!!!"

"What?! No, it's not! It means I'm valuable! And why are you even talking? 'Donghae' means 'east sea'! You're named after the sea! That's even weirder!"

"Nuh uh! Your name is weird!"

"Nooo, YOUR name is weird!"

"Noooooo, YOUR-"

"Enough!" a voice shouted out. Donghae and Eunhyuk both looked at the source of it. It was Kibum.

Kibum continued, "You guys are SOOO annoying! BOTH of your names, are weird, alright?! Now let’s just leave at that." He sighed and sat back down onto his chair.

Donghae and Eunhyuk stared at Kibum, then looked at each other. They bursted into laughter. They laughed until they couldn't breathe anymore. Kibum had no idea what they were laughing at. Idiots...

And that was the start of another beautiful friendship.
