I haven't been here in years! Iwant to track down an old journal entry, but I don't know how to do that, and I'm apparently not smart enough to find it in FAQs. Any suggestions?

Born on January 22, 1999, Samson came to live with us in Coveney soon after we move there. He graciously shared his home with various cats and his best friend, Faldo. We have the thumbs up to leave Cape Cod tomorrow! We're only going to the Airport Hilton in Boston for the night, then on Saturday, we fly home to Tennessee. It's about damn time! Brad commented this afternoon that he was really looking forward to seeing Oscar. I guess that shows where our priorities lie!

Brad has pneumonia in both lung bases. We won't be going home on Saturday. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. He's holding up, but is, understandably, very depressed.

The good doctor released Brad to fly, so we get to use the tickets that I have already booked for Saturday. Uncle Ed is going to finish up the back porch/deck tomorrow and Thursday, so everything is pretty much going to plan. I love it when a plan comes together!

For the most part, Brad continues to improve by leaps and bounds. He is able to walk 40-50 feet down the hallway, and get himself up out of the bed and into the bathroom. On the orthopaedic rehab side of things he is doing quite well ( Read more... )

Quick update on the world's *best* father-in-law. Faithful readers will recall that Brad broke his hip approximately 16 hours after arriving in Cape Cod for a small family reunion, as his younger son, Nick, his lovely wife Aran, and their amazing son Benji were over for a family holiday, Brad tripped over a bedspread in his room and broke his left ( Read more... )

We are here on holiday and the wonderful Brad has fallen and broken his hip. I will probaby have to be here for several weeks.

He continues to gain weight, which is good, as well as a lot of work to achieve. He told the Dr that he had a slightly scratchy throat, and Laura says he seems fatigued and didn't eat much today. I didn't get here from Alabama til just after six this evening. I guess I'll have to make a better assessment tomorrow.

News from the parental units is that they seem to be as well as possible. Leaving in the morning for home. Not paying for another 24 hrs wifi when I won't be here to use it. No word on what's happening with Ryan's funeral yet. Apparently there was some discussion about having a keening. Didn't know they still did that sort of thing.
