Sherlock raises his eyebrows. First at Tom, then at the zombies, then at Tom again.

LITTLE BUSY OVER HERE.

A big zombie in a Cowboys T-shirt come through the door and pauses briefly, as if confused by all the new scents and sounds.

Tom's shot hits it in the shoulder, making it stumble backwards a little but not noticeably deterring it. Behind it, two more zombies -- one in a ragged, stained pants suit, one in a track suit and missing most of one of his arms -- are pushing, trying to get in.

Right. Well.

Other patrons near the door seem to have decided on 'scream and run' as the appropriate response; Sherlock takes his hands out of the pockets of his coat and remains just where he is.

"How contagious are they?" he asks.

"They bite," Tom replies shortly, taking aim at the track suit.

BLAM -- backwards it goes.

minor spoilers for "Scream 4" - more minor than it mght look, I promise mm_catslash April 16 2011, 17:30:47 UTC
Chloe came into Milliways about thirty seconds ahead of Tom, giving her just enough space to turn and blink at the commotion behind her.

Then her expression changes from mildly confused to mildly put-upon. Trust Milliways to prove her wrong.

Whatever. At least Rachel was nice and quiet during the movie. And Chloe still has her knife, sticky with Rachel's blood. It's a good knife, nice long blade, ideal for sliding through a zombie's eye and into its brain.

Which might just happen, if this guy can't hold them back.

[OOC: My internet access is sporadic. Slowtimes are inevitable, but I will do my best to keep up. Oh, and Kirsten Bell doppelganger shenanigans are totally welcome.]

Tom could definitely use some help. He slips again coming through the door, narrowly avoiding a grab from a big zombie in a Cowboys T-shirt.

. . . fine.

She needs some peace and quiet to think, anyway, and she's not going to get it in Milliways if zombies take over.

And she definitely has the edge in this battle. She's the killer.

(Genre crossover makes that a little trickier, but she'll worry about that later.)

Chloe tightens her grip on her knife and lunges.

The base of the blade, as it turns out, is a little too wide for an eye socket. She can't get it all the way in. Still, it goes in far enough, and that's one less Cowboys fan in the multiverse.

--Is that Elle?--

No time. As the Cowboys fan falls with a crash, halfway blocking the door, two more start pushing their ways in. Tom gets one of them in the head; it falls backwards into the store.

A rather pretty -handsome- man wanders over and looks at the zombies.

"Do what the man says, go away," he says in a quiet voice. A voice full of power that commands the undead. Ashkari is a god of the undead after all. They're his creatures.

They'll listen to him.

. . . The zombies look grumpy. At least the ones that have enough muscles left in their faces to have any expression.

But they do what they're told, shuffling around and heading into the aisles of the store.

Tom, uh. Stares.

"What? Would you like them to come back? I can call them back if you wish," Ashkari says. "I was under the impression that you wanted them to go away."

"--No, that's -- fine, that's totally fine. How did you do that?"

One of the zombies sprouts an arrow from his forehead.

(Made from cypress wood, to be precise. Artemis has been keeping a few more of them around after that trip to Las Vegas.)

She climbs up on top of a table for a better vantage point, lining up her next shot.

Tom ducks instinctively, hitting the floor again.

"Holy fuck!"

The zombie teeters and falls backward, into the shamble. It slows down the other zombies for a moment as they try to push past.

"Sorry!" she calls. "Keep your head down for a minute?"

Three more shots follow in rapid succession, bottlenecking the zombies in the doorway. Artemis hops down off the table and scrambles for the door.

Don't need to tell him twice. He stays low, shifting so he can watch the archer (archeress? Whatever), and keeps his gun ready to fire if she needs backup.

"Oh, fuck-"

The first item at hand, luckily, is a chair.

Though to be honest he's more inclined to hide behind it than to use it as a weapon.

Tom manages to straighten up and take aim at the zombie following him -- a big guy in a Cowboys shirt -- dropping it with a headshot.

"Nice shot."

He manages to scoot closer, holding the chair in front of him like a lion tamer.

Tom may find it useful as cover. Or he may be a little bit preoccupied.

"--Shaun? Here, quick."

He grabs the .22 out of his back pocket and holds it out, firing his .38 again.
