Ever since the line appeared in the series, I have loved the idea of Sherlock's loved ones punching him in the face. And what better time than when his oh-so-dramatic return from the dead?
Lovely contrast between the different shots - Lestrade's immediate, instinctive whack, Mrs Hudson's unexpected jab and of course, Mycroft gets someone else to throw the punch!
But, naturally, John's the one who really knocks Sherlock for a loop. An emotional punch with a kiss. Perfect. ^-^

I felt weirdly guilty writing this--poor Sherlock, he doesn't exactly deserve all that punching, in a way, and yet...everyone does deserve the chance to take a jab at him, so he's just going to have to take it.
But, naturally, John's the one who really knocks Sherlock for a loop.
Ahhh, oh my God, I hadn't even really realized that, lol. *facepalm* There is a sense of resignation in Sherlock through all the others, but John completely takes him by surprise and oh, I do love them. :)

I hate the show but love this story- probably because I wish more people would punch Sherlock in the face.
