(A reporter raised his hand almost shyly, as if afraid to bother him, and Jim found that too charming to pass up.)
I think this may be one of my favourite lines of Clark and Jim interaction ever, so cute. You write them all so well.
And Clark and Bruce in this story! *fans self* very steamy, I approve.
Doodlebug629 (in case you're wondering who this odd new lurker is... I'm astraliminal's sister and she's just introduced me to your fic. I may possibly have spent the last week and a half trying to read through your entire collected works...I think you stole my brain...)

I'm really glad you liked Jim and Clark's little moment here! I have this weird thing about seeing Clark interacting with Alfred and Jim or other people in Batman's "extended family." He has such a different approach and it always seems to come out so cute. :)

"You may remember I have always insisted that there was no evidence whatsoever connecting Batman to those crimes. It was dark and events unfolded very quickly. I wouldn't feel comfortable saying exactly what happened." - Oh, Jim Gordon~. ♥ Master of the vague, neutral statement~!
"Clark Kent, Metropolis Daily Planet. I was wondering, sir...are your children all right?"
Jim blinked, then said, "They're doing well, thank you for asking." Kent broke into a smile so radiant that Jim found himself smiling back. - CLARK, YOU GIGANTIC SWEETHEART ( ... )

CLARK, YOU GIGANTIC SWEETHEART!! ♥ ♥
I love Clark being all polite at press conferences! (I also love him really hounding someone when they deserve it, lol!)
I love love LOVE Brucie calling up Lucius and blathering on over speakerphone like a moron, and his double entendres when it came to Harley, and ohmigod there was so much giggling!
That was so much fun to write! My beta and I just had fun throwing out crazy lines for an hour and then I picked the best. :)
As much as I adore comics!Alfred and all of his dignified, straight-faced, wry, dry humor, Caine is so much fun with his cheekiness and snark.
He's super-fun to write, but I always have to go back and add more cheek, lol!
I'm really glad you liked it, thanks for grabbing the time to tell me so on a tight schedule! :)

Oh, by the way, there is SO MUCH TO LOVE IN THIS CHAPTER!!!! In fact, I think I'll marry it. And this chapter and I will live a long, happy life together in the newly rebuilt Wayne Manor with a happy, pouty Bruce and an adorable, shy Clark asking after the Gordon children. And every once and a while, Lucius will pop in to visit, have a coded conversation with Bruce that makes me gleeful, and then Alfred will feed everyone scones and...and...
Oh God, I sound insane. WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO ME?!
Seriously, I'm not getting anything done today! <333333

Bruce the patient is adorable, and his interest in Kryptonian- what a delight to Clark. So happy for them! *Sighs contentedly* at your sweet ending.

Coded talk! I love it soooo much! I'm glad Lucius was willing to play along. :)

Kryptonian! It sneaks into everything! I love it extra in movieverse worlds where Clark and Bruce are the only heroes around, somehow. It makes it even more a BIG SECRET they share, you know? Om nom nom. :)
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I really got attached to this story, I'm sorry to see it end!
