Eeeeeeee

In the silence that followed, Lucius heard Bruce Wayne swallow twice.

I think I actually squeed out loud at this. Good thing I'm alone at home.

I loved all the double entendres that followed too. So nice to see Bruce having fun with Batman for once.

As Clark looked, the light coalesced against the shadows, a bright circle with a dark shape at its center.

You know Gordon jumped at the chance to get that back. I didn't expect to see it, but it's perfect. Ending with his city welcoming him back...YAY!

I really, really liked that the ferry wasn't about inspiration but about just being a decent human being. I think anything else would almost make Gotham feel too rotten to be worth saving? If no one but Batman can be heroic all on their own, can rise to the occasion, then Bruce has too much faith in his city and it's hopeless.

Jim's wife had mentioned the possibility last night. Babs, however, had thrown something of a temper tantrum at the very thought. It's really impossible to imagine any of the Bats totally ( ... )

Heee. Lucius proving to Bruce that coded messages can go both ways made me very happy to write!

I'm not sure the movie will be able to manage the signal coming back so soon after TDK, but boy would I love it if it were there.

I really, really liked that the ferry wasn't about inspiration but about just being a decent human being.

I do think that's implicit in the movie, too--I mean, no one stops and says "Harvey Dent would expect us to be selfless! Let's do it for Harvey!" when there were plenty of options to. I'm not sure Bruce really gets that yet in the movies...

I particularly love that it ends with Clark waking Bruce up to take care of his city. So much of the time fics are all about Clark trying to persuade Bruce to take care of himself more and leave Gotham to others. That works fine with more established versions of Bruce, especially ones where his kids ( ... )

This was fantastic.

I love how you mentioned Tiny, I love the call to Lucius, and Gordon's dislike of codenames for villains. Also Clark's characterization (so adorable), and Bruce being so enthusiastic about Kryptonian, and, well...

Considering Bruce liked to perform "physical therapy" in the nude and with help from Clark, Clark had no complaints at all.

Anyway. This chapter is the perfect way to end a wonderful fic. Thank you for posting this story, I loved it.

LOL, I hadn't realized Gordon was going to get squiffy about coming up with cute codenames! But it makes sense, it's way too dramatic for a policeman.

*cough cough* Bruce's idea of "physical therapy" meets with my approval!

I'm really glad you liked it, thanks so much for commenting! I got really attached to this story. :)

Great chapter! :)

I love all the double entendres that Bruce was speaking with Lucius, who knew the meaning behind them all, and Bruce so happy and energized now that he's in love. :)

Shy Reporter Clark gets the story! ;)

I enjoyed seeing Jim getting to make things right and go home to his family. Babs pitching a fit about leaving Gotham sounds just right! :)

Yes, Clark, never cross Alfred!

Clark's delight in Bruce's delight at the new Manor was sweet.

Also, a language all their own! Bruce always latches onto Kryptonian. :)

The ending was perfect! Great job! :)

It was really fun to write! And imagining Lucius's eyebrows going everywhere cracked me up. :)

I enjoyed seeing Jim getting to make things right and go home to his family. Babs pitching a fit about leaving Gotham sounds just right! :)

I hope the movie gives Jim some closure as well as Bruce! he's really a major character and deserves it.

Clark's delight in Bruce's delight at the new Manor was sweet.

You just know Bruce would have to go over every single inch with a magnifying glass, savoring it. :)

I'm really glad you liked it--thanks so much! *hugs*

Loved it! It was a beautiful ending and I was so in love with Bruce and Clark moments. It was hilarious to read the part where Bruce was so honest about his night and no one was the wiser. Lucius was a good sport about it too. Hurray for another story that was truly awesome.

hee! I really enjoyed the dialog in this - Bruce's conversation with Lucius, and then all the whining with Alfred and Clark. <333

This was a great ending to a really wonderful fic. :) I loved this story SO much! Thank you!! *glomps*

You just know Bruce would be an APPALLING patient, lol. I'm sure he drove Alfred and Clark totally crazy!

I'm really glad you liked it, Caro! I owe you forever for giving me the prompt that finally helped me get some personal closure on The Dark Knight!
