I wasn't happy with the colour version I posted earlier (I found the green to be very distracting), so I tried my hand at a black-and-white version of the Inle kids photo. Which still has a few problems, but which I infinitely prefer.

Today's pics: walls, doors and a sullen-looking girl.

After cruising along the Nile for half a day and visiting both Kitchener's Island and the ruins of an ancient Christian monastery in the desert, we spent some time in a ferociously hot Nubian village near Aswan, where we had lunch with a local family.
