Goodness, I haven't posted in a while. But since my new dress (a Norwegian folk costume from the Telemark region) needs some reworking (my binding on the skirt waistband/gauging area is falling apart due to the fabric stresses and weight of 4 panels of 60" fabric plus heavy trim...I'll need to take it off, cut a new binding band, interface it with ( Read more... )

I hate making stupid mistakes - like sewing on a skirt inside out when you're doing french seams. Oh the horror. Instead of ripping out one seam, you've got to do two.

After such a  mistake, I usually take a break. A good long break.  Like . . . go do some homework or something so I feel refreshed and thankful when I come back to sewing, instead ( Read more... )

I've got a lovely blue on blue and white stripped pinner apron with several bias inserts sitting half way done on my treadle. I love it. =D It's one of the types with the ruched top, like Nona's, but I love the stripe and the color - it's a not-plaid pinner! 'Twas lovely! I very much enjoyed myself. We met up with Nona in Purdy and I rode down to the AI meeting at Nisqually with her. That was loads of fun - I hadn't been to Nisqually before!
