swamped with work

I've never thought that school was hell. Well, that's not true, but I've never thought that the academic aspect of school was what made it hell. I still don't, even though if the stress I'm experiencing regarding my schoolwork continues, I might just break ( Read more... )

hate to break it to you, mishi, but cegep ISN'T THE END OF THE WORLD. as long as you do decently enough to actually GET into university, having average marks is fine. Perhaps you should try to find some workshops on study-management, i know that my university has a bunch of them and so i would theorize that the learning centre of your school probably has them too, and if now, i would go to one of the counsellors there and talk to them about your study habits, because that's what they're there for. Don't give up!

I know, I'm just getting mixed messages from different people, and I AM going to the learning center. Unfortunately, my first appointment is next friday... Stupid voting day.

Hey, no dissing the voting day. The voting day is our friend.

Anyway, Mishi, although it's probably a bad idea to spend 10 years in CEGEP, it's not the end of the world if you don't do it in two, or even three. One of my cousins did it in five because she didn't know what the hell she wanted to do with her life. The other (who, incidentally, has aspergers) did it in 6, with a year off to work as tech-support for Videotron. And the guy's a fucking genius. He just wasn't motivated.

So yeah. Don't completely discount cegep as trivial, but don't make to big deal about it either.

I know, I know... I'm not the one who's making a big deal about it... My parents are.
