Classes and appointments

I went to the breastfeeding class that the hospital offers on Wednesday evening.  Very informative and I was glad that the hospital is so breastfeeding-friendly.  Really, it just reinforced the things I have been reading.  I bought "The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding" a few weeks ago and have been working my way through that gradually.  I liked that ( Read more... )

I think we might have watched that same breastfeeding video at our class!

Does the hospital let you birth in different positions? Because standing/squatting (and I think hands/knees) is less likely to result in tearing.

oh man, that vid was interesting...only slightly freaked me out. :D

Yes, the person doing the tour mentioned walking around, wireless monitoring systems, and being on hands and knees. We'll see what I end up resorting to. :)

That's great that you took a breastfeeding class! It definitely helps to be as informed as possible.

I tore with my first and am trying to do everything to avoid it the second time around. My midwife suggested starting perineal massage and I'm also going to try laboring for longer in water and slowing my fast pushing impulse. I have my fingers crossed! Take care!
