So many great beats! I was going to review at the end but I didnt want to forget this one:

It struck her then; how he could believe her, trust in her, about the most incredible things, and yet still doubt her on how she felt about him. It hurt most because Kara knew she had no one but herself to thank for that.

Just re-reading this chapter and had to comment on how much I love this line:

”It’s you and me, Lee, okay? From here on in. Trust me on this. It’s you,” she could admit it now, “It always has been.”

I specifically remember re-writing that line several times...lol Thank you for enjoying the result.
Yay for reading later. I feel good about people being able to just read the whole thing though at their leisure. Fic is nice when read like that (at least for me)

You just. . . balance so beautifully (for lack of a better word). I love the knife edge that Kara's walking. Love that Lee believes in her completely, but still can't quite believe that she loves him.

And I cannot tell you how glad I am that Lee called Adama out on his blind following of a drug addled woman who declared herself the chosen dying leader from ancient scriptures.

And I'm so glad you mentioned the Lee/Adama thing. I really felt ithat Laura asked much more faith of Adama over the years than Kara asked of either Lee or Adama,

Ahhh, your Kara feels so perfectly drawn here. And surprisingly, he observations of Lee are what I'm keep being drawn back to.

A few examples:

"That indefinable something that was so clean and sharp about him was in full force, begging to be messed with and despoiled and rumpled"

OMG, this is beyond perfect.

"She could see how hard he was fighting right now to reconcile the soldier with the strategist. A part of him wanted to draw his sidearm and fight, consequences be damned. The other wanted to retreat, find the better way, avoid bloodshed."

Love this.
