I don't mention it enough, but you have a beautiful way with words. There are some absolutely gorgeous phrases in this part; I loved all the description about Sam finding Alec's soul.

Oh baby... *hugs Alec* I'm glad Sam took away that memory. That's probably the cruelest thing you can do to an X5. They're raised in units. Their entire worth is based on their unit, on being part of the unit and not failing the unit. To isolate one from EVERYTHING... that's just horrible. No wonder Alec wanted to forget.
