I went down to fence at Polytechnic Fencing Club for the last time last night. Alas, one of the oldest fencing clubs in this country (founded in 1883) closed up yesterday. Went to the White Horse team fencing competition in Abingdon today, fencing ep&eamp;e for the Saxon B team (aka the Fyrd as opposed to the Huscarles A team...). I am so badly out of shape. Crashed over with mrmrsmith and ladydchaos on Friday night prior to heading down the next morning to UCAP in Portsmouth for some subterranean airsofting. UCAP's a pretty impressive site - it's essentially a pretty extensive underground tunnel system built during the Second World War. First day back at Canary Wharf with the fencing bag and, yep, got stopped again, this time by building security. Only he wasn't from the building I'm working in but from one whose entrance I have to walk past to get to it!

Still, he had a distinctly Nepalese look and accent so I wasn't going to argue.

Forgot to mention: Imperial's obviously not as conservative as it used to be. There's a vending machine in the ground floor Gents' in the Union building which sells, amongst other things, pheromone packs, handcuffs, vibrators and inflatable sheep ( Read more... )
