Work's been insane the last month or so. Still, still managed to have some fun:

• Got a postcard from aeshna_uk from Tahiti :-)
  
• Got down to Ultimate again, one more trip and we can get ourselves UKARA-registered. Nice to see the regulars down there were recognising and chatting to us already.

Gosh, it's been a while since I last posted. The big thing was Beltring last week - 25th anniversary of the War And Peace Show. Booked in from Tuesday onwards with Kate and Simon, doing the UNIT thing again albeit with me moonlighting in ARVN Ranger and Airborne kit from time to time.

Short version - another pleasant trip, 3rd in the men's epée, 2nd in the team epée - exactly as last year so OK but not great.

Unfortunate incident at fencing last night. Flèched Martin at epée, of course, it all went wrong and I ran past on his sword arm side (bloody Southpaws!), tried a quick jab as I did. Good news: got the hit. The bad news is evident in the kink of my blade below and, yes, that kink is *against* the normal bend of the blade.

Have posted off application form for shotgun certificate and certificate to receive explosives, all for the purposes of Civil War re-enactment musktery. Think I've left it too late to get it done in time for Lulworth but we'll see. Bit of a quiet night fencing at ULU tonight. Seems it's last night of term or something so attendance was sparse. Upside was that we could run 3 full length pistes as a result and the epéeist population wasn't that diminished. Nice to see too that two of the novice intake have elected to take up epée.
