Outside, there is a whooping, laughing sort of shriek as Tsu'tey falls--rather gracelessly--from one of the larger trees, landing on his feet at the last moment before impacting the earth. He's still caught in the middle of a rare laugh, leaves stuck in his braids and looking exceptionally like a fifteen-year-old boy ( Read more... )

There is a fuzzy-haired human child in the branches of an adjacent tree, watching Tsu'tey's antics with an expression that falls somewhere between fascination and bewilderment.

He shakes his head roughly as he rises up to full height, picking the leaves out of his braids. He reaches something like nine feet tall, tail lazily waving behind his legs.

"Yes?"

Ed blinks a couple of times. "Does that hurt? Because it looks to Ed like a long way down."

"...No," he answers simply. "It doesn't hurt. It isn't terribly far."

Not a lot of things would startle Gaeta out of his run right now.

That, though? That's one of them.

He yanks himself up short fast enough to stumble, gasping for breath and -- unable to stop himself at first -- staring at Tsu'tey.

He looks--for lack of a better word--giddy, shaking his head to get the leaves out of his braids (which are finally clean again after that adventure with Adrian and William) before he notices Gaeta.

His ears don't pin themselves back like they would if he were angry or apprehensive, but his tail flicks once, twice, like a wary cat's. He's used to the humans staring at him: they look much like he imagines he did after seeing one for the first time. "What?"

He raises a hand, still struggling to catch his breath. It does the speaking for him: I'm sorry. I didn't mean to disturb you.

Gaeta plants his other hand on his thigh to lean over his knees for a second.

"Sorry," he finally manages.

Tsu'tey raises a hand carelessly in a silent it's alright, coming closer on long legs that fold up and bring him closer to Gaeta's level, tail out behind him for balance.

"You should sit," he says bluntly. "You run too hard, and you will injure yourself. Humans are frail this way." He doesn't intend it to be insulting--he really doesn't, but coming from a race that has carbon-fibre reinforced bones, it happens to come out that way at times.

It's kitty person who was with the guy who went to Australia so his dog - thing could have sex!

Neat.

Leaning on his walking stick and looking a bit worse for wear, the Fool watches him play with quiet curiosity.

Less so that Adrian's houndeye could be mated, but Tsu'tey went along so he could see Australia. He picks the leaves out of his hair, ears flicking.

"You're look less like a pin cushion," The Fool says in greeting.

"I haven't been hit by an exploding tree," he says, a little dry. "I see you've noticed."

In a nearby tree, a proud creature sits, wings folded back and talons sunk firmly into the bark of the branch it is perched on. Its glossy black feathers are especially highlighted by the proud white head, but its wings ruffle a little when Tsu'tey hits the ground and makes such a ruckus.

It's not that Rachel's actually been interrupted from doing anything. It's just that a bald eagle looks haughty and disapproving no matter what it actually feels, with an expression like that.

...besides, Tsu'tey is something of a curiosity and she's bored enough to do some spying.

He's not doing anything just yet--he didn't really intend to come into Milliways, but he's here now.

He just stands up, brushing himself off as he looks up, and then around.

There is nothing of particular interest - other than the eagle on the branch nearby, that is.

For Rachel's part, aliens are nothing new - and blue aliens, even less. She'd likely be staring at anyone who fell out of the sky with that much glee, just out of curiosity.

Mostly, he's laughing because he'd been having a half-joking argument with a friend of his--and now he's not, so the smile fades rather quickly. He doesn't do much to call attention to himself, but just climbs back up to a branch wide enough to comfortably sit on, proceeding to finish undoing the majority of his braids.

He'll get Tanari to finish them when he goes back.

There's a round of applause from nearby. Just because Shephard's not actively hunting at the moment doesn't mean he doesn't like the opportunity to roam a forest where everything isn't trying to kill him, after all.

The spoils of Tsu'tey's little adventure--clutched in his hand and consisting of several bone-white beads and a few dozen short red feathers--are held carefully as he brushes himself off, looking up at Adrian with a grin.

"Hello Adrian," he greets, shaking out his hair: about half of it is unbraided, falling straight past his shoulders in a fall of black. He was planning to have it re-done after all the tiny plaits were free, but apparently that will have to wait.

"That the way you usually git down from trees?" Shephard asks, leaning back against the nearest one. "I got to hand it to you, you stick the landing way better'n I would."

"Only when pushed," he says with a wild yet boyish grin. "It is easy to land on my feet."

It's a whole lot easier when he's anticipating being suddenly not in the tree he had been, but he suspects Tanari will be forgiving of his momentary disappearance. "The tail helps."
