Outside, there is a whooping, laughing sort of shriek as Tsu'tey falls--rather gracelessly--from one of the larger trees, landing on his feet at the last moment before impacting the earth. He's still caught in the middle of a rare laugh, leaves stuck in his braids and looking exceptionally like a fifteen-year-old boy ( Read more... )

There is a fuzzy-haired human child in the branches of an adjacent tree, watching Tsu'tey's antics with an expression that falls somewhere between fascination and bewilderment.

He shakes his head roughly as he rises up to full height, picking the leaves out of his braids. He reaches something like nine feet tall, tail lazily waving behind his legs.

"Yes?"

Ed blinks a couple of times. "Does that hurt? Because it looks to Ed like a long way down."

"...No," he answers simply. "It doesn't hurt. It isn't terribly far."

Ed looks at Tsu'tey. She looks at the ground, then at Tsu'tey again, then at the ground again. "You are taller than Ed," she says. Even though she's up a tree and not vertically oriented at the moment, it's easy to see that Tsu'tey is at least twice her height.

[OOC: I must go to bed. Slowtime?]

"Oh, yes. I am. My people are always taller than humans." Except perhaps the children, but even then they're pretty tall. "Your name is Ed?"

[OOC: Slowtime is love! Of course.]

Ed grins and nods. Most people don't pick up on this as quickly as Tsu'tey. She clambers down the tree branches and shimmies down the trunk to the ground, where she steps up to Tsu'Tey. "It is short for Edward Wong Hau Pepleu Tivrusky IV!" she says, offering Tsu'tey a handshake (at a high angle, of course).

He blinks, and takes Ed's hand with his own. "That is...quite a name."

"Ed made it up herself!" Ed says cheerfully. "It sounds cool! But it is too long for most people to say, so Ed is just Ed most of the time. What's your name?"

(Ed usually does people the small courtesy of learning their proper names before she makes up her own nickname for them.)

He just studies her for a long minute. "Tsu'tey."

"Tsu'tey, blue-tay,
Jumping out of trees all day
Lights shine bright in the old town tonight!"

Ed dances around to her little sing-song. It's a thing.

Tsu'tey just watches her, wondering if she's a little...slow.

Quite the opposite. Her mind goes faster than most people's - it's just that there's a lot of zigging and zagging and other unconventional movements.

"I only know one other blue person!" Ed informs Tsu'tey. "She's been in the bar for-ever. She's a plant. Are you a plant?"

"No, I am a Na'vi," he says. "We are people."

"The blue lady is a people too," Ed points out. "She's just a plant people."

"We are an animal people," he corrects. "Very much an animal people."
