He leaves Dean sleeping in the motel room. Sam slips through the door into Milliways, then shuts it quietly behind him.

He gives the place a quick once-over, then starts across the room toward the corridor that leads to the Security officeSome time after that he's back. Sam gets a drink and takes a seat at a table

Funny thing about those dark corners, they still have a pretty good view of the front door.

She might not see Sam yet, though. It's been a while since she's been in, and you never know who's lurking in the corners.

Her grin dims a little, and gains an ironic tilt. "I like having fun, Sam Winchester. It gives me something to reflect upon when I am not."

That jaunt to Vegas? Not what she would qualify as 'fun'.

"Yeah, but something about the idea of you having fun with me as the butt of the joke..." he drawls, pointedly.

[howling_laugh]

"You know I like you, Sam. I would laugh with you."

She is so reassuring, right?

He raises his eyebrows.

"Do you?"

[howling_laugh]

"I wouldn't put up with you if I did not."

Okay, she's lying.

But about what part of that, it's sort of hard to tell. For a normal (human) person, she's doing a good imitation of enjoying his company at the moment. Coyote drinks the last of her beer and raises an eyebrow right back at him.

"Thanks," Sam says, dryly.

[howling_laugh]

"You are welcome," Coyote says with a smirk. She collects her empty bottle and makes her way back toward the bar, vanishing in the crowd after that.
