Demeter is in a fairly good mood as she walks up to the Bar and gets a glass of wine before the pain in the woman next to her makes her turn,

"Child, what's wrong?"

Demeter gets the same wary look: the Reds did a great job making her not trust almost anyone. "Why you ask?"

At least, the warrior did not hide in denial.

"You look worried and I tend to worry too much. So many people who come here are hurting."

"I am not worried." She is wary. Hateful. Eager to go back to the field and kill her enemy eager to spread terror and pain.

The war is no more about duty, but about revenge.

There's a Game sprite approaching, looking vaguely concerned.

"Did everything go alright?"

Tanya almost jumps, before recognizing her friend. "As much as possible."

She smiles softly and seats herself next to Tanya.

"See, there was no need for all that worry, then."

"They needed me." She drinks more of her coffee. "The Americans joined the War. We have superior technology now, thanks to Professor Einstein..."

Logan isn't an empath or telepathic but he does read people very well. Especially for threats. He knows Tanya. They get along and he was even in her world helping out not too long ago.

This isn't her.

It's hard to say whether it's mutant or animal instinct that tells him something is very wrong here but whatever it is he sees her and he's instantly on guard.

And pissed, because the sort of wary, dangerous behavior she's exhibiting isn't something that a person just goes through. It's inflicted upon them. He knows.

His approach is calm but he's fully aware of their surroundings, of how close her hands are to her guns, and the distance between them.

"Hey girl, what's goin' on?"

The woman bristles for a moment, by reflex, like an animal that was taught to fear and hate, then makes herself settle down. "A war. The Americans joined."

Yes, talk about something else.

Logan's feral side reacts to the bristling; that combined with the scent of fear and anxiety coming off of her marking her as a wounded animal. He keeps that side of himself in check and regards her levelly.

"'Bout damn time they did."

He's trying to keep his body language neutral and non-threatening but there's always that dangerous sense about Logan that he can never totally get rid of. He's a predator, and it shows.

The woman nods. She is a wounded predator. A cornered one.

Dangerous and ready to strike, ready to go down fighting and take a bunch of adversaries along, Tanya scents of pain, fear and hate. She still scents of her healing wounds.

Here we go again...

Bonzo walks up behind Tanya. "Hey there." Pause. "You doing alright?"

The woman just eyes him; the bruises faded, and she just looks like out of a bad fight.

Also, she might not remember Bonzo at all: she was not in her right mind that day.

Bonzo sighs. "We met last time you came in here. You...uh...shot me."

That causes more of a puzzled expression. "What?" Definitely, she does not remember shooting Bonzo. Or even meeting him.

Thanks to the power of millitime, Mary Anne is a few seats over at the bar.

When Tanya glances her her direction, she holds up a hand in silent greeting. She's not sure if the other woman wants to talk, but she's here regardless.

The woman nods.

The bruises are faded, but still visible.

Tanya would be moe verbose, but... there is a level of shame there, embarassment that Mary Anne knows what happened.

Or most of it.

Mary Anne is quiet for a while, trying to think of what you say (what she said) to a friend who's lived through torture.

"How're you feeling?"

It's a stupid question, she knows, but she needs somewhere to start.

"Like shit." Tanya will not pretend to be well. She is not, definitely.

"But alive." Just alive.
