Enzo's interested in working some more on that User music Tommy gave him, and those songs would just raise too many questions in his world. Thus, he has once again smuggled the guitar through the student lounge bathroom, into the utility tunnels, and thence to Milliways ( Read more... )

Tommy has also forgotten completely about Mardi Gras, but fortunately for him, he's been spared a repeat of April Fools' Day. Instead, his long-sleeved black t-shirt has his Ranger uniform's pattern in metallic gold down the arms, and there are a few strings of black and gold beads around his neck. The normally silver hoops he wears in his ears have changed to gold as well, and while there's a liberal sprinkling of gold glitter in his hair, at least it's not on his face this time.

When you're in Milliways, you count your blessings, and Tommy's putting another mark up on his mental tally sheet.

"Hey, Enzo," he says with a grin, pleased to see the young sprite enjoying both the guitar and the music. "It's been a while. You look... uh... nice outfit."

"Hi, Tommy! Thanks! Look, it even goes with the guitar! Thanks for the music! I totally wasn't expecting presents."

"Hey, my pleasure." Tommy grins. "It probably makes absolutely no sense back in Mainframe, but they're hits where I'm from."

"Yeah. I think Beastie would be okay, but if I tried playing Something's on the Move at the Academy, no one would know what I was talking about. We don't have weather." He peers at Roundabout, which he has been attempting to play the intro to for the last eight nanoseconds. "I don't think this one makes sense anywhere."

And if he's lucky, the young Cadet won't hear the sound of giggling over his outfit playing.

Except that he's programmed to pick up on that giggle by now.

"Hi, Dani!"

"Hi, Enzo." Still giggling. "Nice, um, outfit."

Not that she's got any room to talk. When she came downstairs this evening Bar saw fit to dress her in a black and white harlequin's outfit, complete with white-feathered black eyemask. As on Halloween, "going ghost" hadn't made the costume disappear.

O_O

"I like yours," he says a bit shyly. He's kind of confused, actually - should an outfit that weird make her look that pretty? There's a certain surreal elegance to it. Enzo's own getup doesn't have elegance of any sort.

Okay, so she could stand to lose the hat.

Roundabout with Roundabout, eh? Well, someone might have something to say about that...if he only knew what it was first. This started out with a small greenish-red null wandering about, who was perchance to hear this tune.

What is it?

Music, yes (Well, he hopes...), but what kind? The null - Welman Matrix - slid forward and soon saw Enzo standing there. At least...it LOOKED like Enzo. One had to be sure, though... After all, that suit was REALLY throwing him, what with limited vision and all.

"Enzo? What are you playing? I'm afraid I'm not familiar..."

Naturally not. Who in Mainframe would?

"Dad!!" Enzo puts the guitar aside and drops to kneel on the floor by the null. "Dot said you were coming here now! It's called Roundabout, it's User music, Tommy gave me a bunch of it."

Okay, he didn't know Tommy, but a reasonable assumption would be that he was a very decent person.

"Ah, I see. Don't believe I've ever heard the like. Been practicing, have you?"

A fairly-neutral comment, since he actually had no idea whether this was the way it was suppose to sound or not.

"Every evening!" he declares, trying to make it sound like a good thing.

It's a nicely distracting alternative when there's no one to hang out with.
