The trouble with living within a star, is that the sky in Majesdane never quite had the appearance Karolina knew and loved from Los Angeles. And the trouble with L.A. is she couldn't really enjoy flying unless they were fighting something ( Read more... )

Ajedrez had been at the firing range earlier, for the most part with her earmuffs around her neck. She can't decide if it's zen or psychopathic, but sometimes...it's nice, just having the world narrowing down to the target and the sound and the feel of the gun in her hand.

Now, though, the gun's in the holster on her hip, and she's giving Karolina a wry smile.

"Neat trick."

"Flying? Thanks" Karolina says, pushing her hair back from her face. Even now, she's still streaming coloured light from her sking and hair, and not quite standing on the ground.

And she's apparently flattered at the compliment. "I love your hair."

"My hair?" She reaches up and touches, and grins back - part surprise, part pleasure.

"Thank you."

"It's a lovely colour," Karolina explains. "Mine - when I'm being human - it's all lanky, no matter what I used on it. I must have spent a fortune on organic conditioners."

Hiro is woefully behind on his Runaways reading, but--

Anyway.

He isn't, y' know, blind. So seeing Lucy In The Sky set down when he came out for a breath of fresh air and to swing the sword he knows NOTHING about using around (because otherwise his other self will continue to be more awesome and badass then he)...

Well.

He's distracted now.

"Sugoi! Ah-- that was-- awesome. You sparkle!"

He's a grown up, and Karolina isn't quite up to trusting grown ups yet, but he does have that smile, and it's hard not to trust anyone with that smile.

"Thanks," she says, smiling with only literal sparkle. "It's an alien thnig."

"It's okay," he says. "I'm a supaa hero too! I bend time and space!"

WELCOME HIM AS YOUR HERO BROTHER! :D

"Really?"

There's not welcoming so much, as polite wariness. "Are you with a team?"

Is he a good guy, and therefore going to try and split her up from her friends?

Ray headed outside today to see if he could get in any lightsaber practice. The encounter with Unicron sorta made that impossible the other day; he wound up having to make the attempt indoors, and it really didn't go very well. But hey, no shrunk-down version of the Eater of Planets and Bringer of Chaos! He can live with that.

He's just gonna check around and make sure nobody's in the area to get zapped by an overenthusiastic drone before he tries anything.

Well, she's in the area, but she's not exactly going to get zapped, being quite good at dodging and nearly passable at blocking these days as well.

She is going to shoot a suspicious glance towards the grwon up, but smile politely anyway. She's not in the way, right?

Not at all! Ray would wave, but he's busy doing his best to deflect instead of skitter out of the bolts' way, and he sorta needs both hands for that. Not because the saber puts up a fight, but because he'd rather not accidentally slice off the hand that he's not using.

He's not up to the level of the really dazzling people in Star Wars, but he only gets hit about one out of every four or five times, and he's got enough spare breath to look in Karolina's direction and grin. Look! Harmless!

But he's using a...

OK, that brings the shiny rainbow alien drifting over.

"Is that a lightsaber?"

There's polite clapping from the guy leaning against the blue police box nearby.

Karolina glances over, and gives a small, wary smile.

"Hi."

The Doctor grins.

"Hello there. Very impressive, that was."

"Thanks."

Karolina keeps an eye on him, warily.

"Just flying."
