And Mary Anne's back on the couch. A few more bruises from her fight with Martin decided to make themselves known; that plus last night's meeting of the minds with Namo didn't exactly equal a terrific night's sleep.
She is again using her book to keep the light out of her eyes. Not like she hasn't read it before.

He hadn't yet run across anyone who actually slept in the bar, and he'd been told that there were rooms for let, he could only assume that she didn't have means to pay for one and would be more than happy to provide.

At some point, she flips the book off her face, stretches and looks around.
She sits up grinning. "Hey there, lovely. How's things?"

He runs a hand through his hair and smiles brightly.
"How're you?"

"Keeping it together. Last night was a little rough, but other than that, okay."
Somebody's winning an understatement of the year award.

Eventually, though, she does move the book and it doesn't take a beam of light in the face for her to notice the man on the ceiling.
She's talked to people in the rafters, but this is a whole new ballgame.
"Um...hi there."

She sits up, intrigued by the light in the young man's hands, though she doesn't say anything just yet.
