And Mary Anne's back on the couch. A few more bruises from her fight with Martin decided to make themselves known; that plus last night's meeting of the minds with Namo didn't exactly equal a terrific night's sleep.
She is again using her book to keep the light out of her eyes. Not like she hasn't read it before.

He hadn't yet run across anyone who actually slept in the bar, and he'd been told that there were rooms for let, he could only assume that she didn't have means to pay for one and would be more than happy to provide.

She smiles. "I've never visited California--passed through it once in my travels, but didn't get to stay. I hear it's beautiful."
