Will, sitting down the bar with his teacup raised halfway to his mouth, has a smile on his face which lightens his dark eyes, and Kirjava, standing nearby, pads quickly down the Bar to greet Kaisa, tail waving gracefully.
"It's good to see you," he says, smiling warmly, and reaches up to lay his hand over hers.
"I am very well, but we've been busy, Kirjava and I, and we haven't been able to come here or see you or Lyra for quite a while now. You're looking well, as always."
And she does. He is still amazed at the youthful beauty of the witches, and with a pang realizes that soon he and Lyra will look older than she.

She moves down the bar herself, reaching to lay one hand on his shoulder.
"You are well, I hope?"

She takes a seat next to him, still smiling.
"And what have you been busy with? Studies?"
